Igenix IG3002 2 Slice Toaster in Black with Six Position Variable Control, 750 Watt
Igenix IG3002 2 Slice Toaster in Black with Six Position Variable Control, 750 Watt
Price: £14.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive Toaster that Does the Job, 1 Mar. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This toaster, "does what it says on the tin," and toasts bread, crumpets, muffins and so on.

Having used it, I found it to be light, easy to operate, with adjustable width in the slots and self centering. There is also a slide out crumb tray
for easy cleaning. There are six variable options for toasting including de-frost and re-heating. The slots are not as deep as I would have liked,
as I have a preference for large thickly sliced bread-as it just misses the top section. That aside it is fine.

It is inexpensive, and it shows in the plastic casing-but it functions well and effectively.

If you are looking for an inexpensive toaster, that does the job, then this would fit the bill.

Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual 9 Razor Blades + Razor with Flexball Technology

5.0 out of 5 stars A Quality Razor -Efficient and Smooth, 26 Feb. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Gillette Fusion Proglide razor blades are a new product to me and having tried them, they perform very well.
In this pack you get the newly designed razor, with one razor attached plus nine other razors.

Having used the Gillette Mach3 previously, I was curious to see whether they were a definite improvement -and they are!
The razor does glide and is smooth to the skin. The contours of your face are easily managed by the razor and there is no
'scraping' or scuffing. For those with sensitive skin-it is certainly worth consideration.
The design, enables the razor to move seamlessly as it shaves.

A slight quibble -why no holder?

There is no doubt about the quality of the razor and having used it I have no hesitation in recommending it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficient, Light to Handle, with Impressive Safety Features, 24 Feb. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a neat, powerful and efficient fan heater.

Having had my previous fan heater for some years, this fan heater brings me up to the twenty first century!
It is accompanied by an instructional leaflet, outlining operating instructions, directions for use, including the thermostat, cleaning and care, troubleshooting guide, and helpful advice regarding safety. Safety, is clearly important and I am impressed with the particular design features of the product which gives peace of mind. For example, there is tip over safety cut out and thermal overheat protection. It also cuts out if you lift it up.I have tried these features and they work effectively. There is also a cool fan setting for summer use.

Having used the fan, I welcome the lightness of the product, which also has a handle to take it from room to room if desired.

There is a short power cable from the fan heater to the plug, but again, bearing in mind safety and trailing wires across a room, it is a positive.
Besides, this efficient fan heater will heat up a room effectively. It comes with a 2 year guarantee.

So, in summary, does, the job, light and efficient. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Performs Well, Good Storage Case, Value for Money, 22 Feb. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This product is being reviewed by my wife so I will hand over to her....

Firstly, the product is presented very well, in that it is contained in a smart, practical and convenient case. The case stores the hairdryer and attachments. The product performed very well, leaving a smooth, silky finish.

It also comes with attachments, including a main concentrator nozzle, a paddle brush-which is intended for more smooth styling, and two different size brushes for curls. There is also a styling comb to give lift at the root of the hair. They all function very well.

I find the 'paddle' brush works particularly well for my hair which has a natural 'wave' and I prefer a straighter finish, whilst at the same time providing 'body.' You do not get this finish with ordinary hair straighteners.

A drawback for me is the width of the handle of the dryer which has a slightly 'chunky feel. The handle would benefit from being more slender or have a better grip design.

Overall, it performs well and functions competently, and considering the price provides value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Use, Effective, and Ideal for Travel, 17 Feb. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This product has been used and is being reviewed by my wife -so I will hand over to her...

I had previously used a Philips Lady-shave and whilst it is effective and does the job, it is bulky, (for that particular area,) and there is some weight to it, making it not the most user-friendly for the task.

I have used the BikinieGenie Trimmer and the difference is readily apparent. It is slender, light and is easy to use, and handle. The hair can be trimmed to a shorter length(0.5mm) or with the trimming comb to 3mm. The results are that it performs well in that intimate and delicate area.
My experience is that it is a smooth operation with no scratches. It does what it says -it is a trimmer.
A silky carrying bag is provided for storage and of course travel, which is another advantage over the Lady Shave, in terms of weight and size.
An AA battery is supplied with the device, (hooray!) and is ready for immediate use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vanish Gold - Effective and Produces Positive Results, 6 Feb. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have used other Vanish products and always found them very effective. So, with a certain amount of confidence, I approached using Vanish Gold Oxi Action Stain.

My confidence was fully justified. It is extremely effective on all whites from cotton bed linen, to shirts. It certainly does the job and actually reinvigorates them back to white again, having gone -'a shade of off white.'

Using it is straightforward, adding a scoop (included within the carton,) of powder to approximately four litres of water. Persistent stains may require a more concentrated approach and perhaps more than one treatment. What I can tell you is that it works and is far better than other products which I have tried.

It could be viewed as expensive, but what is the point in spending less on other products which do not deliver?

There are no negatives to it-follow the instructions-and in my experience you will be impressed with the results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Philips Sonicare Air Floss-An Effective Way to Floss Your Teeth!, 29 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having used different ways of flossing my teeth, I approached the Philips Sonicare Air Floss with no particular expectations as I had not used this method previously. There is a useful instruction booklet which gives guidance on the do's and dont's, plus how to store and maintain it. Three is an easy to follow diagram on how to quick start the Air Floss, through assembly and importantly use it.

Out of the box, in appearance it is a smooth attractively designed device. After charging it for 24 hours I filled the reservoir which with water although you can mouthwash, which I did subsequently and that certainly freshens your mouth. It is certainly easy to use.

I found the results to be be very good. The nozzle sprays the water, or mouthwash in between the teeth, enabling it to be clean and clear.
Having used the Air Floss for almost three weeks, I have found it to be efficient and effective. It is far preferable, than using the cord method, it seems to me more hygienic and it certainly removes plaque.

It does the job extremely well indeed. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Philips Sonicare- Top Class Toothbrush-Effective and Stylish, 27 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having tried a number of electric toothbrushes over the years it was with no particular expectations that I sampled the Philips Sonicare, Diamond Clean 300 series.

From the start, out of the box, it looks impressive and oozes quality. So far , so good. But what about the important bit, I hear you ask, the cleaning of teeth? Well, Philips give you a number of options, all highlighted when you have the toothbrush switched 'on.' The options range from, 'Clean,' 'White,' 'Polish,', 'Gum Care,' and 'Sensitive.' They all work perfectly well. My particular preference is either 'White," or "Sensitive and 'Gum Care' is really helpful.
There is no doubt it is a definite 'upgrade,' on other rechargeable toothbrushes I have tried.
It is smooth, and very very effective. I have tried it for just over a fortnight, and the results are very good. It does leave you with the feeling that your teeth and mouth are thoroughly clean.

The charging process is unique, in that it is charged in a glass on a stand, It could not be easier! There is also a very useful case which comes with it and is very useful to store it in, especially for travelling.

There is a useful product guidebook which accompanies it, giving you advice on how to use, store and maintain it. The old adage is, 'You pay what you get for.' In this case it is definitely true. The Philips Sonicare is a top class, stylish, but most of all effective toothbrush. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Acts of Omission," Authentic Expertly Plotted Thriller, 25 Jan. 2015
This review is from: Acts of Omission (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Although this is a first novel by former BBC journalist, Terry Stiastny it has all the hallmarks of an accomplished and authentic thriller by a seasoned author. It's real life sounding plot wherein Mark Lucas, the recently appointed Foreign minister has landed himself into a very tricky and career threatening position as a disk containing the names of British informants to the Stasi has ended up in the hands of the government.

Set in 1998 and centred around London, but also featuring Berlin, it has a real feel of sense of place, with expertly drawn and believable characters, notably Alex Rutherford, the young man working for the Intelligence Services and Ann Travers, the reporter, who begins to join up the dots to solve the mystery which will impact upon peoples lives.

Stiastny, writes well and engineers pace to the story which will keep your attention. For those who like their thrillers, based around a true story this a worthwhile and compelling read which I enjoyed immensely.

Holy Spy: The New John Shakespeare
Holy Spy: The New John Shakespeare

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy Spy- Historical Thriller at it's Finest, 11 Jan. 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Rory Clements latest excursion into the realms of espionage, intrigue and violence in sixteenth century England is one based around the Babington Plot. This scheme involved Mary Queen of Scots and correspondence with a group of Catholic men who were plotting the assassination of Queen Elizabeth I. The correspondence, which was thought by the group to be secret and was
written coded cyphers was broken by agents acting for Walsingham, Principal Secretary to Elizabeth.

It is against this background that John Shakespeare, is tasked with infiltrating the 'Pope's White Sons,' to collate information and save the life of the Queen. He must not of course be diverted from his mission by his private concerns, (that of his ex-girlfriend being accused of murdering her new husband. As a consequence his personal life places him in danger. He must deal with these issues as well as completing his mission to protect Elizabeth.

Rory Clements does an admirable job in weaving his hero John Shakespeare into the history of the time with an authentic feel and a narrative that zips along. It is a stand alone novel and it is not essential to have read the authors previous novels.

It is to the authors credit that he manages to be prominent in clearly a crowded genre and his work has a distinctive voice.
Recommended.
