5.0 out of 5 stars ---- FOR THE REAL GAMERS ----, 1 Dec 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I feel compelled to write this review on the basis of all the children giving 1* reviews on both the Xbox and PS - most of which are not verified purchases. Those that are are generally faulty machines and should also be ignored, as much as I can empathise with the unfortunate.

Both machines are top notch and for the gaming industry to keep advancing and pushing forward we need BOTH consoles to be successful. If it was not for Microsoft bringing the original xbox to market Sony would have no competition and we probably would not be talking about "next gen" right not.

My decision to go for the X1 actually was swayed when Sony released their smart little video about how to lend a game to a mate. pretty low for Sony that and quite unfair it seemed as it is games developers pushing the download rights issues, not Microsoft. Personally I was glad when Microsoft changed their policies as I like to have the physical media in my hands. however this was a step backwards towards last gen as lets be honest everything will be download in the future.

FOR THE GAMERS
I also find it ironic that Sony have dubbed their system the "console for gamers" yet on launch Microsoft have the better games =/ this is fact of matter - no arguments to be had. the best ps4 game is resogun - a sidescrolling arcade game. this is reflected more in the TV advert doing the rounds where it is mostly advertising WATCHDOGS DRIVECLUB and ASSASINS CREED 4 these are all cross platform games out or coming out on last gen consoles! whats going on Sony? Id be pretty knarked if I had been an early PS4 adopter and has spend 300+ and the only game anyone cares about is resogun.

EXCLUSIVES
Exclusives are also my reason for getting the X1 as I prefer first person shooter games to the Japanese exclusives. Halo, Dead Rising, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive etc all seem better than anything I have seen crop up on the PS exclusive front. Sony have got NaughtyDog making exclusives which should all be pretty good if Last of Us is anything to go by (I have a PS3 and the last of us) but even that was very linear and the least challenging game I have played this year as the only puzzle in the entire game was find the ladder - bridge the gap - find the ladder - bridge the gap. still an awesome game though. one of my favourites!!!!

ONLINE
The 300,000 servers that Microsoft has invested in are already paying off with pretty impressive worldwide launch it has coped with ease. PS has staggered their release partly due to this partly due to units availability and has still had issues with on-line. I was always impressed with xbox live. I was much less impressed with Sonys. I have much confidence that Microsoft will keep my details safe where Sony seem to be vulnerable - my card details were stolen along with thousands of others from Sony's insecure on-line service so keep this in mind when spending your money with the cheaper system.

The more I think about it the more that the Xbox One seems to be the Console for the Gamers- for real gamers! - with better launch titles, better future exclusives, better more secure on-line play, better controller, more options to keep you entertained outside the gaming world.

rant over here is my review...

The games are gorgeous, the dash is clean, the Kinect 2.0 is surprisingly useful and accurate
the X1 is worthy of a next generation label.
The console is impressively quiet at all times.

But the bottom line is we need to keep the war going - both consoles are very powerful and there is no wrong choice just what you prefer. people need to stop posting 1* reviews and enjoy the console you ave bought rather than going on-line to shout about how rubbish the console they don't own is.

This review is from: The Dead Want Women [DVD] (DVD)
Tongue-in-cheek humor, some luscious babes who are more then willing to get naked and ham it up for your viewing pleasure, Eric Roberts... in an orgy-scene, and some ghouls! =)
A ridiculous straight-to-video cheesy horror movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious spoof - a classic B movie!, 2 Nov 2012
Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle ...It's a long cheesy title on a movie with an equally cheesy premise. That's what makes this movie so much fun to watch. I have a soft spot for B-movies. The strong effort by the actors often makes them superior to the "A" movies Hollywood produces.
The plot is ridiculous, and the actors know it. They play it straight anyway and their excellent performances make this movie so good. In the face of a cheesy script poor production values, a low budget and skimpy costumes they make it work. I highly recommend you get this movie and a bowl of popcorn on Saturday night.
Cannibal Women is a B-movie that scores all A's with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars HEART PUMPING ACTION, 18 Sep 2012

The high-octane, KICK ASS final 30-40 minutes is worth the price alone.
Overall... good performances of the lead actors and the action scenes are top notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars ...FULL MOON AT ITS BEST..., 18 Sep 2012
Puppet Master was the film that put Full Moon Entertainment -- Charles Band's independent exploitation film company -- on the map.

In my opinion it was one of the best direct-to-video movies ever made and set a precedent for all others to follow.

Puppet Master is, in many ways a typical Full Moon horror film: colourful and absurd, featuring monsters, in-your-face gore and breast-focused nudity. Of course not all Full Moon productions would prove to be as entertaining as this one. But there is a distinctive quality to the B-grade fun of Full Moon at its best that appeals to many horror fans, and in this respect Puppet Master is a prime example.

In HD it looks superb, with a UK exclusive commentary, booklet notes and a reversible sleeve!

Best version out there by far

5.0 out of 5 stars >>>WIDESCREEN<<< YES PLEASE!!!, 21 May 2012
This review is from: Castle Freak [DVD] (DVD)
This movie is directed by awesome man Stuart Gordon who also directed Re-Animator, Pit and the Pendulum and From Beyond!

He does a great job making hard to watch gore scenes that you really don't see every day!
But the gross-ness of really that one scene and the gore of others is really what makes this one stand out for me, that and the fact that Jeffery Combs is awesome.
This movie also has a lot of weird stuff to it, like the opening scene this old lady beats the castle freak with a whip.

This release has so much detail and looks so crisp compared to my old release its obviously from a great master.. Pleeeeeaaaseee do a Bluray in the future?...

This review is from: Planet Terror [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Tons of gore, ripped apart bodies, nudity, explosions and a brilliant guitar theme playing throughout, its as simple as this - if you like your movies to hit you smack in the face but also make you laugh and cheer - this is going to make your night!!!

Dead Island is a zombified take on Fallout.
I thought i was in for a glitchy game from some of the reviews i read but i encountered very few of the bigger bugs!
If you're a fan of zombies or action games, you should at least check out Dead Island.
Its a lot of fun..
gory and violent...
and lasts as long as you want it too!

5.0 out of 5 stars ...I can see why its Stephen King's favorite horror film..., 17 May 2012
This review is from: Tourist Trap [DVD] (DVD)
I can see why its Stephen King's favorite horror film.. as he states in his biography.
There are more cultural references in this film than Tarantino, yet it has never gotten its just acknowledgment as one of the best horror films ever made.
Its film references alone are staggering, yet just on a straight ahead basis its unbelievable.

The idea of putting Chuck Conner's in a Tourist trap venue, and a horror venue, is genius in itself. The scenes are so original..when one victim is psycho-kinetically killed by a pipe, and after the loud rush of violence is over, and the soundtrack carries the drip drip drip of the victims essence dripping away resounding on a tin pie plate..it works at so many levels.

Scary, yes, but there is so much more here. This film has not gotten nearly the attention and acclaim it deserves. The soundtrack is phenomenal in itself. For a first time director on this film, David Schmoeller mines an incredible wealth of material in this work, including a level of tongue in cheek humor for viewers who are paying attention.
It's fantastic that it is now available on DVD..it's what true horror classic fans like me have been waiting for..to complete their classic libraries..

A sleeper that has withstood the test of time, fun to watch.. they don't make them like this anymore!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must see for any Lance Henriksen, Stuart Gordon or Full Moon fans., 1 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The head Inquisitor, Torquemada (LANCE HENRIKSEN) is seeking out witches and other blashphemers to torture until they get a forced confession. Maria (Rona De Rici) speaks out at one of the public whippings and she is imprisoned and accused of being a witch.
While locked up she meets an actual witch that helps her unleash her inner power!!

The cities, costumes and castles all looked authentic and really add to the feel of the movie. There are gated cells, skeletons, coffins, and just in general the set designs look fantastic! and also THE PENDULUM is really bad ass looking.

The score is fantastic.

It has an amazing cast.
JEFFREY COMBS has some great lines.
Gomez played awesomely by STEPHEN LEE, has a great presence
LANCE HENRIKSEN in one of his juiciest roles
OLIVER REED aces his part as an alcoholic Cardinal
MARK MARGOLIS (from Black Swan) who i never knew was in this film is great!

...smoking hot naked chick...witchcraft...inner powers...fist fights...sword fights...exploding witch that kills people with the bone shrapne...cool gore scenes and a great action packed finale with bloody rats and all...A must see for any Lance Henriksen, Stuart Gordon or Full Moon fans....
