5.0 out of 5 stars Expert Shield - because your expensive phone is worth it !, 20 Dec. 2014

The fit is just right and the cover offers good protection, but still leaves the screen responsive. It's worth having a couple of "dry" runs before you make the actual application and I would recommend a final swipe of the screen with an anti-static brush to remove those last few, almost invisible, pesky specks of dust.

I have used Expert Shield on my last couple of phones and also on my camera LCDs and have considered them to be a very good investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal case for the Fuji X10, 3 Jan. 2013

I had been looking around for a suitable case for the X10 and had narrowed it down to a Lowepro or the Fuji old-style camera case. Then I came across this Samsonite. It seemed too good to be true at this bargain price, but being tight with a quid I took a punt on it and am delighted.

It's well made, has plenty of padding (and a rubberized bottom for putting on wet ground), an extra zipped compartment for battery and cards and will take the camera with strap coiled up in the main compartment. There's a decent strap with shoulder pad and a belt loop. The only drawback is the flap design, which is probably not waterproof in a downpour, but I'm in the pub long before that ! It is bulky compared to the official Fuji case, but it does more and is £50.00 cheaper - 'nuff said !

Fast and efficient service from fotoSENSE, so all in all highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book for anyone interested in horses or art, 21 May 2012

This was purchased as a birthday present for my sister who is both a keen rider and hobby painter. I can report back that she is delighted. She says the paintings and drawings capture the character and grace of the subjects and the text and 'how to' illustrations lead you logically through the various stages of creating your own horse art.

As someone whose equine career started and finished with a donkey ride on the beach 45 years ago I did have a peep before the wrapping paper went on and I too thought the book was very well designed with paintings and drawings that are inspirational and a course of instruction that will help the beginner to build up a real understanding of how to paint and draw horses. It's obvious that Eva loves her subjects and this shines through on every page. I'm very tempted to borrow the book, pick up an HB and drawing pad and have a go myself !

5.0 out of 5 stars Less is more, 30 Jun. 2011

There's almost nothing there - a voice, a guitar - and yet if you take the time to really listen to this collection of songs, well, everything is there. Great song writing, a beautiful voice, wonderful playing, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings have produced another record of raw emotion and intensity.

If you know the previous albums I would rate The Harrow and the Harvest as the best yet. If you haven't heard them before you are in for a treat. Put away the thrash metal, banish Beyonce and listen to some proper grown up music that will stay with you forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's been a long time coming....., 15 Nov. 2010

This review is from: The Promise (Audio CD)
Times and musical tastes change, but "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" has regularly been played on my turntable, tape deck and iPod for the past thirty years. Each song is a classic in its own right. It's hard to believe that "The Promise" represents the out-takes and rejects. There's a case to be made for any one of this set of 21 tracks being included alongside the originals. This is essential listening for all Bruce fans and a treat for anyone who appreciates songwriting and musicianship.

The Legend of Colton H Bryant
The Legend of Colton H Bryant
by Alexandra Fuller
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it and weep....., 18 Jun. 2008
This is the true story of the short life of Wyoming roughneck Colton H Bryant. It's about people and place and politics. It's a polemic aginst the oil industry's disregard for the environment and its workforce. It's a real life Annie Proulx story.

If you are familiar with Alexandra Fuller's memoirs of Africa you will know how she can conjure up the smell and feel of a place and bring the cast of characters to life.

The Legend Of Colton H Bryant is even better than her first two books. The prose is as lean and tough as the Bryant family and the landscape they inhabit. Read this angry, sad, powerful, wonderful book and feel a sense of loss for a man you never knew.
