This review is from: No Time for Geishas (Hardcover)
I first found this book in my girlfriend's mother's guest cabin. It so happens that the author is my girlfriend's grandfather and therefore, it was extremely intriguing for me to read it.

It's a stunning recount of events that happened in a Japanese POW-camp, during the construction of the Death Railway in Thailand and Burma. Being written by an Englishman, it offers an impressively sober, non-dramatic and factual view on what was certainly a very dramatic series of events. For example the daily battle for survival and the battle for power among the ranks of both Japanese, British and American soldiers.

Well worth a read.
