5.0 out of 5 stars Clinical Medicine, 20 April 2010
In the true fashion of the Oxford Series, this book gives an American twist to the well-known Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine. It is as readable as its UK equivalent and is just as concise. It is a good one for doctors working in the American continent or planning to do so soon, as it uses predominantly American terminology for common conditions, treatments and measurements. I would definitely recommend it.

An excellent product. So soft, so beautiful, so classy and yet so practical. This is the thing for the female executive who wants to be taken seriously whilst remaining ladylike. I would recommend it anytime.

5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, 20 April 2010
In the true fashion of the Oxford Handbook series, this book gives a concise synopsis of a rather complex topic using simple, understandable terms.

This book is an excellent, detailed, but at the same time, a quick guide. It is definitely a recommendeded one for Foundation Doctors, registrars in any specialty and consultants in a range of specialities such as Communicable Disease Control, Public Health, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, etc. It is also highly recommended for other healthcare professionals, such as infection control nurses and Directors of Infection Prevention and Control, who have an interest in 'bugs'.

Excellent product. It was so easy to use and instantly transformed my baby's room into a nice space for a child. And it comes off so easily (if you change your mind). I would definitely recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Controlling Infectious Disease, 11 July 2009
It is a useful book that gives a good summary of the (quite specialist)subject. It focuses on the principles of the subject matter and so is probably best read in conjuction with the latest government guidelines for the management of specific diseases. I would also recommend this book for those studying for faculty membership exams as it really does summarise the important facts.

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I am surprised it is recommended for those aged 3+. It is quite difficult to navigate and contains so many unclear written instructions that I cannot see a child less than 7 years navigating it easily. I have to sit next to my 4 year old and navigate it for her. This kind of defeats the purpose.
