5.0 out of 5 stars Product worked for me., 7 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Product worked for me - you do need a M-M coax to connect it. Then it's a 30 second job - the power lead is adequately long.
It worked for me. Channels which had become poor quality recently were restored.

I have had good reception for years with a loft aerial, but about two months ago, some channels, especially ITV – BBC was OK – began to break up and become unviewable.
A friend suggested this can be due to G4 mobile phone masts, but before I checked it out, I bought the booster.

When I checked the quality of the channels before installing it, several were very low. Channels 22, 23 were quality 10, but 25 was 1-5, 26, 28, 29 and 30 were quality 5.
Afterwards, 26 and 28 improved to 10, and 29 t0 9 but 30 remained on 5-6.

So all channels were improved except possibly 30, which has a lot of the HD programs.
But subjectively, all channels were now OK.

THE AGE OF SCANDAL: An Excursion Through a Minor Period [Penguin Book #1839]

Edition: Mass Market Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Replacement for a copy given to a friend., 20 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this to replace a copy I gave to a young historian friend interested in the period, and the transition into the Victorian age. It's a great read for the non-specialist and great fun.

Interesting foreward, with insight on the political concerns of the immediate post war period - scare of socialism among the moneyed.

I bought this for a friend, and it turned out to be not exactly what he expected. No one's fault but ours. Delivery and condition fine - as advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful size; reasonable quality for the price., 20 Mar 2014

It's more generally useful with the zip expansion, than a very flat messenger bag. For this sort of size, look for the phrase school as well as messenger in the description. I've been using it to take medical records to appointments - being old and decrepit. Works well for this, and you can put a little shopping into it on the way home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but ........, 20 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a good product and worthwhile for any long term Canon user with lots of FD lenses to try out.
BUT not easy to focus, I found, so not very easy to use except on stationary subjects.
And you need to set the custom function to allow the EOS M to take a photo without a lens attached.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice book, but .........., 20 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nice book, but vertical format caused too many horizontal photos to be split over two pages. Text was a little small for my elderly eyesight. in spite of these - elderly(?) - grouches, a great evocation of the period and scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can recommend this., 3 Oct 2013

A little cheaper than the Canon hood, and fits fine. No problem purchase. Can recommend this. (But the maker's one isn't too dear, either!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Definite recommendation as replacement for the 40 watt bulbs., 3 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The 28 watt halogen bulbs are at least as bright as the 40s conventional ones they replace, and the light is whiter, which I like.
The 40s didn't last very well, either, and the new bulbs aren't a lot more expansive. No problem dimming them. Definite recommendation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine once you have customised the camera., 6 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The adaptor fits nicely, but it was quite difficult to make it take a photo, as you have to allow it with a lens with no electronic contacts.
The solution - and this is a camera function, not the adaptor - is to use the Custom Function to allow this. I quote from a forum.

"Go to custom functions (third item on the fourth wrench menu). Function 7 is release shutter with no lens. Enable this function. Since a legacy lens has no electrical contacts the camera thinks there is no lens." Serious Compacts site.

5.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable and interesting read, 30 Aug 2013

I found it a very enjoyable and interesting read. I have to confess I know the author, so was predisposed to like it. But irrespectively, I think anyone with an interest in the Caribbean experience would find it worthwhile and absorbing.
