Evangeline: A Serial Killer Horror-Thriller
Evangeline: A Serial Killer Horror-Thriller
Price: £2.59

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read., 6 Mar. 2015

Saw this in the bestsellers list of horror and just had to give it a chance. Written in first person, this is a memoir of a teenage serial killer, who "shares" time with her mousy sister. Not for the easily offended, this girl is single minded when she's on the hunt. To be fair, she is certainly provoked to take the actions she does.

Bought this for my 15 year old son. It's a good quality jacket and well worth the price. Best of all is no complaints from son either!

Really good stuff for a debut novel. Not one for the faint hearted as some of the "treatments" border on torture. Had me squirming in my seat in places.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating and (quite) additive, 16 Oct. 2014

Deceptively simple game. The object is to stop the blue dot reaching the edge of the playing field in as few moves as possible. My main criticism is that the randomly placed dots at the start of the game actually determine if it's possible to trap the dot or not. That said, it's still a frustrating way to kill a few minutes.

Excellent addition to the Kindle store. The app quickly finds the music you are searching for and in just a couple of taps the music can be added to the devices playlist. Highly recommend.

Death in a Northern Town
Death in a Northern Town

4.0 out of 5 stars No surprises, but some interesting characters., 4 Sept. 2014

I found this an ok entry into the crowded zombie sub genre, with many plot devices that you find in a hundred similar books (i.e unsuspecting "hero" faced with his first zombie, family reunions etc). What makes this a bit different is the sense on humour that manages to excape from the horror story. The author may go into to much detail about bodily functions at times, but if you can't enjoy a character like 80's Dave then you're missing out.

Abbot's Keep: A Ghost Story
Abbot's Keep: A Ghost Story
Price: £1.15

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little ghost story., 13 Jun. 2014

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. It's a fairly straight forward tale of a man left alone in a former Monastry. As he finds out more of the monastry's dark past he finds more than he bargained for.
Don't expect ghosts jumping out at every possible moment, but the author does a good job in creating a dark atmosphere without the novella becoming too wordy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another entry in the Forever After Series, 4 April 2014

Finished Forever After and moved straight onto book 2, which is unusual for me as I usually prefer a change of "voice" when I finish a book.
This continues on from the first book and is another novella length story that follows on from the first book. Book 1 gives us werewolves, a girlfriend, a demon Santa and the promise of a mysterious baddy. Book 2 is a serial kiler working the streets of Brittleside.
I thought this was a better read than the first volume and I'm really looking forward to finding out where this story will go to in the future.
Jester is easily the most consistant writer of this genre I've come across and alway enjoy his books and short stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jester does it again, 31 Mar. 2014

I've become quite a fan of David Jester and this book confirms my belief in his talent.
The book follows the trials and tribulations of a reaper, who roams the slums picking up souls and delivering them to the after world.
The book is more like collection of connected short stories rather than a "proper" novel, but don't let that put you off. This is amongst the most original ideas I've read in ages.
