4.0 out of 5 stars 1 and 2 are great, 3 is not, 14 May 2012
Both book one and two are brilliant. It is really an exciting story with great ingenuity.
However, book number three is very different from the other two books, and this is probably the worst book I have read were the others in same serie were good. It is written in another style and a lot of illogically choices are made. It is very sade that two so good books have an end which is so different and bad. I understand why the author has made that choice, but it doesn't make it better.

Further, watch the movie, it is even better than the book due to especially Jennifer Lawrence who does it excellent.

1.0 out of 5 stars Black Smurfs, 22 Feb 2012
Everyone who actually know this wonderfull comic by Peyo know that the Smurfs should be black and not purple. It is a scandal that the publisher has censored this classic and beloved comic and made all the Smurfs purple. What else is censored in this comic?
I own the edition where the Smurfs are black and will never buy the purple edition.

Everyone can see for them self how the album should have looked.

The "CORRECT" comic would have received five stars, but this comic is a scandal and can only receive one star.

Blake & Mortimer Vol.6: SOS Meteors (Adventures of Blake & Mortimer)
Blake & Mortimer Vol.6: SOS Meteors (Adventures of Blake & Mortimer)
by Edgar P. Jacobs
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.97

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best comics ever, 27 Jan 2011
The best Blake & Mortimer stories are better than even Tintin and are some of the best comics ever made.

"SOS Meteors" compares with the "Yellow M" on being the best of all Blake & Mortimer stories and some of the best comics ever made.
This is a fantastic story, enjoy it, you will love this comic and will read it again and again. You will get a great and sofisticated story, exictement, sci-fi, and as usual Mortimers fight against the villain Olrik.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best graphic novel series ever, 19 Aug 2010
You may have seen the movies, forget about those they were not even close to to the quality of the graphic novels. Infact I did not like the movies, but I love the graphic novels. They may be the best ever published. I can only think of two others which match Modesty Blaise in quality, exitement, great artwork and history telling: Prince Valiant and Donald Duck by the master, Carl Barks.

This album is the first in the serie and is a very good start. The artist is one of the greatest artists ever, Jim Holdaway. The album contains four good stories:

La Machine
The Long Lever
The Gabriel Set-Up
In the Beginning

"The Gabriel Set-Up" is a classic, an absolutely most read because it contains one of very few stories with the master villain, Gabriel.
"The Machine" is the first story and explain how Modesty and Willie became free lance agents - a very fine story.
"The Long Lever" is of medium "Modesty Blaise" story quality, which is of very high standard compared to other series.
"In the Beginning" is a very short story, but a very important story for understanding the background of Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin. Perfect that this and "La Machine" is in the same album.

In Denmark "Modesty Blaise" was running in a magasine with several other stories. When voted for the best serie in the magasine, Modesty always came in as number one.

Every album also contain some extra materials, when you love the "Modesty Blaise" series it is very nice getting some extra information about the author, artist, stories etc. Though it is max 10 pages, I would have loved getting more extra material.

The stories is of course in black/white as it should be. It is good quality paper and very nice front pages. It is a paperback (112 pages). I would have loved it as a hardback.
