Philips Sonicare HX8918/10 HealthyWhite Plus Electric Toothbrush and TongueCare
Philips Sonicare HX8918/10 HealthyWhite Plus Electric Toothbrush and TongueCare
Price: £159.99

4.0 out of 5 stars It's on the tip of your tongue, 30 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a standard Philips Sonicare brush but with a twist. The box contains not only a brush, stand/charger and nifty white case to carry the brush around but it also gives you a tongue brush and spray.

The brush is up to Philips usual quality. There are no digital readings as there are on some other brushes in this price bracket and there are only two standard modes; normal and whitening, but the tongue add on technically adds another mode. It works with a single button press and does a good job of cleaning teeth with vibration and normal brushing together. In addition, you can set the intensity with up/down button and the now-standard 2 minute cleaning function which buzzes every 30 seconds to get you to brush each quarter of your teeth over 2 minutes.

The tongue cleaner is interesting, it's a soft long brush that can hold a bit of water and is designed to properly clean tongues better than just using a standard brush. Spraying the tongue cleaner spray on the middle of your tongue, the wet brush then gently cleans it. It's an odd sensation and I'm not entirely sure it does a better job than a brush but it is more comfortable.

It's a good set and the tongue cleaner makes it stand out but I'm not sure that it does anything more than other brushes in the long run.

BIC Kids DrawyBook Interactive Colouring Book
BIC Kids DrawyBook Interactive Colouring Book

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good but trouble on old tablets, 29 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is another of the ever growing Augmented Reality book and app sets for kids. The idea is to bring pictures to life by drawing in the book and then following the story on the app 'scanning' in pictures to make them part of the story.

The story is about a boy who meets an alien and his pet. It's a great way to present facts about space and contains huge amounts of information about planets, all read with a very clear voice. There are pieces on all the planets, though it's not fully up-to-date on the last year's efforts to visit further out planets again.

The app works far better than other AR app and book sets I've used and hats off to Bic for this top class product. I also loved the way they added one of those 'magic pen' sets with the White pen that overwrites another colour. The book has loads to colour in and draw, though once it's all coloured there's not much else to do bar revisit the story.

The only issue we had was running this on an original iPad Mini. It got frozen in several spots and restarted itself. On iPad Mini 2 and the iPad Air it worked fine.

Manuka Doctor ApiRefine Lip Enhancer 15 ml

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly plumps but moisturises well., 27 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm usually sceptical about things like lip plumping serums but this has surprised me.

The active ingredient is bee venom, which is fast becoming one of the top ingredients in high end serums. This gives what the product describes as a tingle but what I'd describe as a slight burning sensation! Does it plump the lips? Actually it does, but not by much and only for a short time. It also has a slight peppermint aroma, which is far from unpleasant.

It did take away some of the visible lines from the lips and moisturises them quite well, but I'm not sure the plumping effect would be worth buying this for alone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful for marking pages and easy to pull out., 26 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These are little page markers which come in a packet that also acts as a dispenser.

The notes themselves are sticky but also easy to peel without destroying a page, making them fairly easy to re-stick to another page if you need to. They're wider than normal as well, so make it easier to find in a large file or book once the page is marked.

The dispenser could be a little better thought out, it works, the notes pop out of the packaging and this allows them to come out one by one, but it's easy to rip the packaging too much. I understand that it keeps the cost down to make it this way, though and it's better than having them loose. It also fits well in the 3M Post-it Designer Combi Dispenser.

Manuka Doctor ApiNourish Foot & Heel Cream 75 ml
Manuka Doctor ApiNourish Foot & Heel Cream 75 ml
Price: £6.66

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for rough or tired feet, 26 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Despite the main ingredients of this foot cream being labelled as Avocado Oil and Shea Butter, the first thing you notice on applying it to your feet is the peppermint smell. It's really nice and actually quite relaxing.

This is a fairly thick whitish cream that seems to absorb well into the skin and leaves it immediately feeling much smoother. After my wife applied it to her feet they felt almost rubbery smooth at first but then lost the rubber-like texture while remaining smooth.

As well as being relaxing, the Manuka Honey and Shea Butter ingredients really feel like they're getting to work straight away. There's not such a pronounced effect from the Bee Venom as with the face cream, there's very little puffiness, but feet do feel much softer and hydrated after application.

We'll certainly look at buying more of this when the tube runs out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really does wonders and smells nice, too, 26 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
We've used a few bee venom based products before, so I'm now less sceptical about them working (they do!). This Manuka Serum is the latest one and it has the bonus of containing Manuka Honey, too, which has been proven to aid skin and complexion.

The small container has a pump action top and the creamy serum (more like a cream in consistency) is easy to pump out and spread on the skin. It feels smooth and is more heavily perfumed than other bee venom products so doesn't have that strange aroma. It's actually really nice, if a little strong for night time use.

Skin certainly feels a little plumper and tighter after use, though as always with these products it's just a temporary thing. Both of us tried this out and had the same results, with skin slightly more shiny and glowing afterwards, as well. For the price (much less than some of the higher end similar products) this gives fantastic results. Full marks to Manuka.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great as long as you don't use a case for your phone., 25 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Veho stand and Dock for iPhone is a great looking piece of kit with a real premium feel to it. The aluminium frame looks really well designed and with a minimalist feel to it.

The idea is that you plug your iPhone in to the base and the top of the triangle holds it in place. However, as the base is only exposed so far, cases that impact on the space at the bottom of the phone (ie: most cases) won't work with it and the width of some cases will mean that you can't get the right angle to plug the phone in, anyway. There are 2 rubber strips on the base to stop the whole stand slipping and it's actually pretty sturdy with a phone on.

If you do have a 'naked' phone or often take it out if its case to charge, this is a great idea and even comes with 2 allen keys to take the lead out and replace it should the original get broken (as leads are prone to do).

One word of warning, though; this does not work with the Plus phones (iPhone 6 Plus or 6S Plus) very well as the weight of the phones tips the whole thing over. It does charge and they even fit on the stand, but place it on a flat surface and they'll topple backwards.

Zyliss Clip-All Bag Mix Clips, Multi-Colour, 5-Piece
Zyliss Clip-All Bag Mix Clips, Multi-Colour, 5-Piece
Price: £10.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy magnetic clips for the kitchen, 23 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I initially thought these clips were a little on the pricey side for just the 5 you get in the package. Having used them now I'm changing my mind.

The clips come on a card and are connected by that horrible plastic strip stuff that you need to cut off with scissors. As there's also a bag around the whole thing, it does seem a little like overkill, but as they're kitchen based and you're probably going to have a pair of kitchen scissors handy, I'll let them off. Just be prepared if you do buy these.

There are 3 different sizes of clip here; a large one, 2 medium clips and 2 small ones. The large and medium clips have slightly extendable handles which makes opening the clip easier. The medium ones and small ones all have magnets on the back in the middle (under the handles) and so can be stuck to the fridge. This is ideal for keeping shopping lists but does need 2 fingers to open the clip without knocking the whole thing off, as we found out.

The large and middle sized clips are perfect for keeping cereal and other bagged goods fresh. They're a little expensive for keeping lunch bags sealed, though, and I'd recommend only using them around the house. That said. they're sturdy and clip really well.

The price point is still a little bit of an issue, i'd have liked to see more of the little clips in the pack, but other than that these are great quality and really handy.

Tower T80413 All-in-One Mandoline Slicer, Green
Tower T80413 All-in-One Mandoline Slicer, Green
Price: £41.78

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing since sliced carrot., 23 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This was larger than I expected, causing a few issues with working out where to put it in the kitchen! That said, this slicer works far better than the smaller one we already had.

The fold out stand/handle is an excellent addition which means you can place this on a table or hold it fast without getting near the blade. It's pretty sturdy and improves the speed at which you can cut, making the job faster and safer.

The round slicer piece on top is easy to move and doesn't get stuck mid-slice with potatoes, something several of our previous ones had issues with. Not only that, but you can set this to cut cubes, thick slices, chips, thin slices and more. It's pretty versatile.

So despite the size and the lime green colour, this slicer is the best thing since sliced carrot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, 18 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
We bought this for my daughter's Yamaha keyboard as the stand which came with it was far too difficult to move up and down for her.

This RockJam stand is ready to go out of the box, the clip which holds the stand up is easy to use but still feels sturdy. My daughter can pull the stand up and down by herself (though the keyboard is still heavy) and we're really happy with the stand in general.
