Tower T80413 All-in-One Mandoline Slicer - Green
Tower T80413 All-in-One Mandoline Slicer - Green
Offered by Electrical Emporium
Price: £19.99

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing since sliced carrot., 23 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This was larger than I expected, causing a few issues with working out where to put it in the kitchen! That said, this slicer works far better than the smaller one we already had.

The fold out stand/handle is an excellent addition which means you can place this on a table or hold it fast without getting near the blade. It's pretty sturdy and improves the speed at which you can cut, making the job faster and safer.

The round slicer piece on top is easy to move and doesn't get stuck mid-slice with potatoes, something several of our previous ones had issues with. Not only that, but you can set this to cut cubes, thick slices, chips, thin slices and more. It's pretty versatile.

So despite the size and the lime green colour, this slicer is the best thing since sliced carrot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, 18 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
We bought this for my daughter's Yamaha keyboard as the stand which came with it was far too difficult to move up and down for her.

This RockJam stand is ready to go out of the box, the clip which holds the stand up is easy to use but still feels sturdy. My daughter can pull the stand up and down by herself (though the keyboard is still heavy) and we're really happy with the stand in general.

Sonic Chic Urban Lovehearts Toothbrush
Sonic Chic Urban Lovehearts Toothbrush
Price: £19.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Good upgrade on the standard travel brush., 18 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
My wife fell in love with this toothbrush and it's an ideal size to fit in a small bag or handbag.

The brush comes with a lid that matches the heart design on the base and slots together to look like a long cylinder. It also comes with a spare head, increasing the life of the product. There's also a single AAA battery included so it's ready to work out of the box.

This is a sonic brush so works by vibrating rather than moving. This also means the brush can be a little smaller as it has less physically moving parts. The brush head felt a little soft compared to our usual Oral B brushes, but not too soft that it mattered. As this is designed to be a travel brush it's probably perfect for these requirements, anyway.

It would be great if they did these in other designs as well (I don't think I'd be carrying one of these around myself!) but the design with multi-coloured hearts is great and eye catching.

Cole & Mason Self-Watering Herb Keeper, White
Cole & Mason Self-Watering Herb Keeper, White

5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea that helps with watering herbs, 18 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I love this idea, it's actually quite simple but seems to work.

There are 3 parts to this plant pot; the metal base with a small funnel to pour water in, the top part that holds the plant (also metal, by the feel of it) and the felt pads that contain 2 long 'feet' which slot through the white plant holder and dangle down to the water holder below.

The idea is that the water seeps up the felt pad, feeding the plant. So far it seems to work and the felt stays wet but not soaking. I'd only advise a word of caution if the herd that you're growing needs a lot of water all the time, but most of the time it should suit your needs. We've got a Coriander growing in ours at the moment and it looks quite stylish.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good file but the clasp seems to break easily., 18 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Until now we've used paper based folders with compartments, but after a while they get tatty and papers are likely to fall out. This plastic folder looks far neater, has a clasp to keep papers safe and a handle for carrying around.

The 13 compartments are useful for storing A4 papers, bills or credit card receipts. We now have several of these so we can use one for Insurance, one for receipts and guarantees and a large one for monthly bills, but I will say that the expanding side of things doesn't allow for much more expansion after stuffing a single pocket full of receipts and monthly bills then repeating this to fill all compartments, but for general A4 papers and even the odd magazine this shouldn't be an issue.

The material looks strong, bar the clasp, which for some reason they've decided to make the plastic around this thinner and it does look like it could break after extended use. This has been the same in all the Rapesco files and it seems like a cost cutting exercise that just means most people are going to find their clasp breaking sooner rather than later. With my last file, when it did actually break I thought it might be a one-off, but it's now happened with 2 of the 3 files.

Nails Inc Trio Power Treatments Set
Nails Inc Trio Power Treatments Set
Price: £45.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but not keen on packaging, 16 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was quite surprised that the box for this rather expensive set didn't really look all that expensive. The card box isn't very inspiring, though to its credit, the set of three bottles do look lovely when out of the box.

There are no other items in the box, no guidelines on using the nail set on paper or on the back of the bottles. The front of each bottle does have the name and what the item is, though.

The three bottles offer a base coat, top coat and an overnight mask which improves nails. The base coat is easy to apply and dried fairly quickly, the top coat took a little longer but not much more and the results were certainly worth waiting for.

Overall a nice pack which could have done with a better box but which gives good results. We'll see how much the mask improves my wife's nails over time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product but could do with more information in the instructions., 15 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nice package which comes with the heavy plastic dispenser, z-fold style post it notes and a small set of sticky page markers.

The container has compartments for the post it notes, page markers/index tabs and another 2 different coloured sets of page markers or a single larger set of index flags (which it doesn't detail and which isn't included). It would have made more sense to include at least a sample of those other page markers which, in turn, would have encouraged the owner to buy more. Still, as you are already getting a huge pile of post it notes I can't really complain.

The post it note holder has a push up spring to push the post it notes up and make dispensing easier. As they are z-fold rather than standard (they are stuck together on alternate sides rather than the glue being on one spine) they pop out each time you pull one out. It works really well and means that it's always easy to grab a note. The markers are similar but it wasn't clear on the box they come in what to do. It could have done with a better set of instructions for opening the box and installing these. We made the mistake of ripping the base of the box before realising it can stay in place.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just doesn't work., 13 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made this. "let's sell brown dust in a tube that you can squeeze on via a comb on the end. We can even claim it stays on even in the rain".

Alas, it's not going to survive a quick itch, let alone a rain shower. Only static might come to its rescue.

The tube has a switch to open and close it. Once open you run it through your hair and leave for a while before it is supposed to settle and stay in place. I'm not sure how it's supposed to stay attached to hair, it does to the scalp but only if you smudge it in and then it just looks like weird paint.

The idea is novel and the problem of hair loss or revealing partings is certainly real, but I'm afraid this product doesn't seem to be the answer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vast improvement over older massager seat, 11 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
We had an earlier model of the HoMedics massage chair cover and it was a huge bulky affair which we found difficult to fit to a chair. This new version is thin, light and seems to fit on everything we've used it on.

The box comes with the massage cover, a mains plug and long wire to plug into the chair cover and a car adaptor for the cigarette lighter socket so that you can use this on a car seat. It's up and running in a few minutes and there's no need to look at the included instruction manual as setting up is as easy as just plugging it in. There are straps on the back and bottom of the cover to strap it to a chair or car seat.

Once turned on there are 3 buttons on the left of the seat (as you're sitting). The top is for heat, which is independent of vibration/massage controls and is actually useful in itself for things like back pain. Putting this on while on my computer chair is really comforting. The middle button is for massage and has 2 settings. Pressing once gives you a normal massage and pressing again ramps it up a notch. It's worth noting that having the heat and massage on at the same time will slightly lessen the power of the massage, though not by much. The third button is the on/off switch for the massage element. The heating element is separate to this, so can be switched on and off independently of the on/off switch.

I'm been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this new massager and it's a great thing to have around for when I'm sat at the computer, plus it's light and easy enough to fold so that we can take it back downstairs to place on the sofa if needed.

Rimmel Precious Stones Nail Polish, Diamond Dust
Rimmel Precious Stones Nail Polish, Diamond Dust
Offered by Xtras Online
Price: £2.19

5.0 out of 5 stars Oooh, glittery, 11 May 2016
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
We were prepared for a poor product given some of the reviews for other colours in the range, but this Diamond Dust colour impressed us.

The colour is mostly made up of the silvery glitter but infused with light-catching dots which change colour as the catch the light, giving you purples, reds, blues and greens that shine and change as you move your hands.

Applying the nail polish was easy, especially considering all the glitter, but it was smooth and easy to get an even coat. It needs several coats to get the full effect and once covered it feels a little rough to the touch but didn't seem to flake at all the day after applying.

Very impressed with what we initially thought would be something that left glitter everywhere and wouldn't stay on, but turned out to be a fantastic nail polish with a really nice multi-coloured effect.
