1.0 out of 5 stars Basically unusable, 20 April 2016

The photos show a clear case for the iPhone 6+, but when it arrived it was covered in scratches and writing? I removed a 'protective film' from the back, but it's absolutely impossible to remove anything that's supposedly on the inside, I've watched the advice video on YouTube about peeling off around the camera or using duct tape, but absolutely nothing works and you can't even feel any kind of protective plastic there to come off, so it just feels like I have a scratched case

I give up at this point, I've been trying for AGES to get the supposed plastic off, but it literally feels like there's nothing there to come off. I'm really disappointed with the quality, in the past I brought a clear case for my iPhone 6 and it just went straight on from the box, so why they had to make this case so impossible I'm not sure? If they had to include two protective sleeves then surely the least they could have done was make it easy to peel off on one corner?

2.0 out of 5 stars Not size accurate, 20 Nov. 2015

To be honest I'm surprised at all of the gushing reviews, I found the dress completely different from what the picture led me to expect. It looks like a clingy and flattering dress on the model, but on me it came down to nearly my knees and was a pretty loose fit, not clingy at all. I'm not the tallest person around granted, but you'd still expect a better fit than that for a mini dress

I ordered the size that I always wear (size 12) and it didn't look right on me, so really the description should have some sort of warning that it's not size accurate and will be way too big on you if you order your usual size. I was left feeling like I should have instead ordered a size 10, and there's just no way that I'm a size 10, much as I might wish otherwise! Not everyone wants the hassle of returning it for the correct size, so they should be more upfront in the description about the size discrepancies I would say

5.0 out of 5 stars Really happy with this, 9 July 2015
Really happy with this! I did have a few problems with the Bluetooth in the first week or so with my phone not synching with the activity data on my watch for ages for some reason, as well as it cutting off my sleep tracking in the early hours off the morning, but since then whatever the issue was seems to have been straightened out by itself and I've no complaints.

It's really handy having all the data on your activity level and sleeping, as well as it being waterproof so I can use it in the pool. I find the app very motivating in knowing what my activity level has been each week, and wanting to make sure I beat it the following week, or at least stay consistent. I also like being able to glance at just your watch for an idea of how close you are to your steps goal. I wouldn't be without it now, sooo much better than the withings pulse that I owned before this, that was so tiny and hard to keep track of that it ended up ruined in the washing machine, it was a much better idea to have the activity tracker inside a watch

This review is from: Britney: Pop Princess (Hardcover)
Quite honestly this was a bit of a disappointment for me. If you're just interested in pictures then by all means you should buy this book, it has a ton of high-quality pictures and would make for a gorgeous coffee-table book. But the writing of it left a lot to be desired, it was a bit all over the place chronologically with descriptions of how Britney first got her start in two different sections, there was at least one factual error I spotted (Jessica Simpson never appeared on The Mickey Mouse Club with Britney as far as I'm aware), and everything seemed to be summarised very briefly indeed

I would have been interested in a more detailed write-up of all of Britney's singles, music video's, and public appearances, but this book only seemed interested in briefly summarising Britney's career up in between the pictures. For example there was no mention whatsoever of the movie that she made (Crossroads) or her commercial and sponsorship deal with Pepsi, it only *very* briefly mentioned her iconic dance with the snake, and some of her most infamous music video's like Slave, Toxic, and Till The World Ends simply weren't talked about at all

I'll give it three stars for the amount of great photo's that were included, but really there was so much more that the book itself could have covered when it come to Britney's career

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars, 21 July 2014

Really informative book from an author who obviously did his research and spend years interviewing Savile. The focus of the book is more on Savile as a person and how he got away with so much, rather than focusing on the lurid details of him say being a necrophiliac that the tabloids like to linger on. There is mention of Savile having a fascination with dead bodies, the happiest time of his life was apparently the time that he sat by his Mother's corpse and finally had her all to himself as he put it, and he was (obviously!) very troubled in his relating to the living and the dead, but there was no proof offered up for him supposedly having sex with dead bodies. I would imagine that those rumours started up because of his public fascination with the dead, but from what the author found out it seemed more likely to be about Jimmy Savile's personality disorder and lack of humanity. He lacked the capacity for normal human emotion, even at the time when he was a national treasure he was openly admitting to being odd and not feeling emotions the way that others did. As well as liking being around the dead, Savile also frequently mentions relating to "sub-normals" as he puts it

I'm a bit too young to remember Jimmy Savile well, so it reads like a work of fiction at times how this vile man in his 40's and 50's was charming parents into letting him date their 16 year old daughters, how he was openly admitting a liking to young girls to the media, and apparently countless teen girls were throwing themselves at him. The author himself dwells on how revolting Jimmy Savile was and how he was struggling not to be sick at the way he ate with egg yolk dripping down his chin, so it's almost beyond belief that such a man managed to charm the establishment so much so that he was a close friend of the Royal's, the police, and political figures such as Margaret Thatcher. It's just bizarre to imagine someone like that charming anyone, let anyone bonding with Prince Charles and Princess Diana!

It wasn't just interesting for giving more insight into Jimmy Savile the person, it also really made me think about how the world used to be, that just 30-40 years ago parents would apparently happily let their 16 year old daughters go off in cars with Jimmy Savile, that nurses in hospitals would turn a blind eye to a 12 year old girl complaining of abuse, that he would be offered up 5 young girls to stay with overnight in a tent as part of his demands for appearing at an event (and one of those teenage girls has spoken of it since and makes it clear that none of them were happy about it and it wasn't consensual, but she wouldn't give any details of what was done to them out of respect for the other girls involved). You're left feeling that it wasn't just Jimmy Savile that was depraved, but that he got away with as much as he did because British society was just as twisted, so many figures in charge were happy to smile and indulge Jimmy Savile in taking what he wanted

The book itself was fascinating and extensively researched, I have given it five stars for that reason, but there were one too many typos in the kindle edition that will hopefully be corrected in future editions

5.0 out of 5 stars Very flattering, 31 Jan. 2014

I'm short and fairly busty, and I must say that the size 12 looked amazing on me and really flattered my chest and overall shape if I do say so myself!

Be aware though that it's not exactly a regular jumper, it's more of a dress and won't like right with jeans as it is fairly long. It was actually longer on me than it looks on the model, hers looks fairly scrunched-up at the bottom and it will stretch out longer. I'm always looking for form-fitting clothing though that's long enough to cover up my thighs and doesn't cut off at the hips, so this was ideal for my body-type and I found that this looked fabulous paired with leggings.

Great delivery service too, full marks

4.0 out of 5 stars Honestly I'm not madly keen on the taste..., 10 Dec. 2013

It's not like a nice creamy milkshake that you would drink for pleasure, but it's not absolutely vile or anything either. It's okay to drink I guess, just a bit too sweet and powdery tasting

But if you are looking at this drink for weight loss then all I can say is buy it. I considered myself to have a fair amount of protein in my diet, so was fairly skeptical about how much of a difference a protein shake would make, but it really does fill you up for hours. If you're someone who is struggling with your current diet regime then this drink should make a big difference. It's supposed to be a meal replacement, but having just a milkshake for lunch seemed a bit silly to me so I was planning to have it as a mid-afternoon snack, but it left me feeling so full that I could barely manage much dinner after that! I have an annoying tendency to get hit by hunger pangs at night and need to keep talking myself out of snacking, but with this milkshake I was absolutely fine and didn't feel any hunger pangs for the rest of the day, fairly unusual for me!

Very impressed with it so far, I'm planning to start using it as a meal replacement now as it really does leave you feeling completely full and satisfied

Pear Sports Pear Mobile Training Intelligence System/ Performance Heart Rate Monitoring for iPhone 4S and 5 - Blue

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if you want to get serious about running!, 18 Aug. 2013

I was nervous about getting this as it says here that it only work with iPhone, but on the pear website itself it says that it will also work with an ipod touch. I had a bit of a dilemma before deciding to take the chance and buy it to work with an ipod touch, planning to return it if there were any problems. And sure enough everything worked fine, with the ipod touch you just don't get to hear the distance or pace you've run at obviously because of the lack of GPS, but that wasn't a deal-breaker for me by any means. I still get all of the programs, the advice based off the heart rate monitor, and the calories I burned in each session, and that's what really mattered to me. I suppose you could always use a treadmill anyway if you wanted to use an ipod touch with wi-fi to get the full benefits of finding out how many miles you've walked and at what pace

I've been really impressed with it so far. It was really easy to set up, it's literally just download the app and add in your info, then strap on the heart rate monitor and headphones and you are ready to go. I'm someone that often struggles with new gadgets, so if I had no problems with it then I doubt anyone will! And there are absolutely tons of programs to choose from, I'm going with a beginner's guide to running at the moment and it's amazing what a difference it makes being told exactly what your heart rate is and when you need to speed up or slow down.

My one complaint is that it might come with 3 earbud pieces, but 2 of them seem waaaay too big for a ladies ear, only the very smallest would fit comfortably for me. It would be nice if they could have made a couple of slightly smaller sets instead of just the one, I will be stuck if I ever lose them! But I will say that when I tried the next size up earbuds (which are a struggle to squash into my ear) they do still stay in when I'm running with absolutely no problems

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really for me, 26 Mar. 2013

I should have taken more note of the description of it being a Western in Space as I've never really been into the Western genre. I suppose I assumed that a lot of it would be more used as a metaphor for them being on the frontier, instead it's pretty full on with twangy guitar music, people on horseback, and bar brawls. I will say that I found the first few episodes very slow-paced and hard to get into, so I'm not surprised it never found it's audience on Fox if I'm honest. It feels like more of a cult hit than a show that would ever have the mainstream appeal to justify the millions of dollars budget that Fox was spending on it. Around the time of Our Mrs Reynolds I started getting into it more and you can't really say that it was a bad show, I would go with it being an acquired taste, but overall it's far from my favourite of Joss's shows and I really don't get all of the people calling Firefly a masterpiece and acting like anyone who doesn't get into it must be stupid

I did end up enjoying most of the characters and there were a couple of episodes I really loved (War Stories, Out Of Gas), but then there were still episodes like Heart of Gold which just hit too cheesy and old-fashioned a note for me. I'm not saying that Firefly is bad in anyway, but new viewers should be aware that it's not a guarantee that anyone who has been shown this show will always fall in love without question, yet that's all I ever heard when I was thinking of checking it out. Even people who enjoyed the film may not necessarily love the tv show unreservedly as Joss toned down the Western theme a lot for the film, it's pretty full-on in many episodes of the show which could easily put some people off of they're not into Westerns

There's some over zealous hype going on because people are understandably frustrated at the potential it showed, but does that make it the best show ever? Not in my own opinion
