5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, i own a part of Ocean's history, 18 Feb 2014
This book is the culmination of this great software house's history. It is a wonderful publication, with information, interviews and unknown facts about the history and legends behind one of the greatest software houses ever.
If you wish to relieve your youth, when the commodore or spectrum reigned, you must own the book. if you would like to have information or a reference book about Ocean, this book is for you...! hopefully other companies will follow this exquisite example!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent next generation Seiko, 21 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The watch is the evolution of the Kinetic generation. Well built, with very nice design, the blue colour on the chronograph and the main knob is very stylish.
The buttons lock down securely to protect the watch from water.
After a few minutes of sunlight exposure the watch starts to function perfectly.
Highly recommend it

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a historically accurate epic, 22 April 2005
This review is from: The 300 Spartans [DVD] (DVD)
At last, I watched a Hollywood film that tells the story the way it happened. The theme of the movie is the battle of Thermopylae, maybe the most important battle in the history of Europe. The Persian troups were delayed for 3 days by 300 Spartan warriors, led by Leonidas, at the narrow passage of Thermopylay (Gates of Fire). This gave time for the Athenians, Ionians, Corinthians, Macedonians and the rest of the Greeks to assemble the fleet and give the advancing Asian barbarians the final blow at Salamis.
The movie takes place on lacation, at a very scenic area, with many extras, performing excellent in man to man combat and chariot combat, too.
The classic phrases "Molon Lave", told by Leonidas to Xerxes and "I tan i epi tas", told by the Spartan mothers to their sons, are told, and explained in the movie.
The armor of the Spartan warriors is the historically accurate one, with the big Greek "L" on the front (standing for "Lacedemoniis" (Spartans in ancient Greek), they wear the red cloaks, (so no Spartan blood would be visible to the enemy). The daggers are of the correct size and not mistaken by the Sariza, and the battle cries are the appropriate ones.
The musical score is by Manos Hadjidakis, capturing the epic history in a bewildering way.
After all the "historical" epic - junk i watched lately, i was pleasantly surprised to watch this marvel that was filmed more than 40 years ago. Well done!

Norton Internet Security 2005
Norton Internet Security 2005

1.0 out of 5 stars Installation Problems, 7 Oct 2004
I have been using Symantec products since 1998. My pc used to have all the latest versions of Norton Antivirus,Firewall and Systemworks.
However, this year, Norton Internet Security seems to install normally without any problems, but, it does not. The firewall is turned off on its own, and the Antivirus bundled with the package is unable to complete a full system scan. Needless to say the instructions on Symantec's website (the free ones) have been followed to the letter, without any result.
I would advise you to try out the trial version of their software first, to make sure everything works as it should, before losing your cash.
Had their customer support service been able to assist me with the problems, I wouldnt have rated the package so low, but for such a crucial part of my pc's security, I expect a fully functional and operational program for the price I pay

5.0 out of 5 stars A true adventure game, 28 Jun 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Conspiracies (PC) (Video Game)
Its been over 4 years since I played a genuine adventure game of the Tex Murphy series style.
Conspiracies is an adventure game that has everything! Intrigue, great plot, convincing acting from the creators of the game, great music from a well known Greek jazz band, excellent graphics!
This is a detective-mystery game, which uses a graphics interface like the one found in the Tex Murphy games. in other words, there is total freedom of movement, you may search over and under several objects. The plot is nonlinear, the player has complete freedom of movement.
The main point in any adventure game, is of course its puzzles. I am happy to say there is logic behind every puzzle, you will never be surprised by the solution to a particular problem.
I would like to suggest this game to hardcore adventure games fans and to the new players who would like to play a solid, classic adventure game!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real masterpiece!, 11 Feb 2004
Cecil's textbook of medicine has been my favorite internal medicine textbook since my student years, back in 1991. The newest edition (22) features major changes to the book layout, which is very productive and makes reading, studying and even referencing it very functional.
The new edition features more colours than the previous ones, which are used as text "hyperlinks", referring the reader to other chapters and to online contents. The diagnostic criteria for a specific disease and the treatment are included into specific tables, characteristic of the Cecil textbook. This makes it even easier for the student to memorise and understand!
The new e-dition, includes a bonus cd-rom, which includes all the pics and tables of the textbook. They can be searched, categorised and even exported for powerpoint presentations. Excellent!
Furthermore, the reader gets FREE access to the online version of Cecil, at [...] At the website, new discoveries in medicine are included wthi highlighted text into the textbook, therefore the book is constantly updated to the latest medical discoveries and trends. You get to have access to your beloved textbook from any place in the world, without the need of carrying it with you.
In short, the new e-dition of Cecil, is a must for medical students, residents and fellows! Look no further, the best medical reference textbook is here.

5.0 out of 5 stars A surprisingly good adventure game, 6 Jan 2004
Last year has been a very fruitful one for adventure gamers. Runaway is a fine example of last year's harvest.
It is a "typical" point and click adventure game, which has all the necessary ingredients to make it a success:
(1) Great Plot
(2) Fun, logical puzzles, with no pixel hunting
(3) Very nice graphics, atmospheric and humorous
(4) Pleasant main characters with good voice acting, that dont irritate the player
(5) Atmospheric ambient music and great rock themes.
Conclusion: Another fine example of European programming and and a must have game for all adventure games fans.
Please note that Runaway could become the introductory title for nonadventure games fans, as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars A different type of adventure game, 3 Nov 2003
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: In Memoriam (PC/Mac) (Video Game)
In Memoriam is a new type of adventure game, one that involves using the internet (to access emails and web sites), in addition to the game's puzzles, presented in a very unique way.
I dont wish to spoil the fun for you by giving out details about the game. What you need to know is that a serial killer has sent a "spooky" cd-rom, with videos of the 2 missing journalists and puzzles that you need to solve, in order to understand who this "lunatic" is.
The interface and atmosphere of the game reminds of the movie "Seven", the images, sound clips and videos are of an exceptional quality and atmosphere. If you ever wanted to live an experience like the movie "seven" or "silence of the lambs", this is the chance.
The game does not require an expensive pc in order to play it. This brings to mind the old saying "playability is what makes the game, not the graphics!!"
One minor flaw of the game however is the traditional, poor packaging. You get a dvd-rom case, an insert with the manual and the cds... The good old times of Infocom and Magnetic Scrolls are long gone, when the package included many more extras which could be used in the game. I think "In Memoriam" could use such extra "trinkets", it would add to the atmosphere.
Nevertheless, as a die hard adventure games fan and collector, I recommend this game to all players, adventure games fans or not!
