4.0 out of 5 stars Value for money toy., 31 July 2015

Larger scale than Lego minifigures but of similar design, these military characters offer good value for money. Quality is very acceptable for the price paid, they also fit with MY Building Bricks sets (also sold on Amazon.co.uk).

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing., 31 July 2015
Too highly priced for what you actually get with the set. Overall design seems lazy and half baked. Vehicles don't even have tyres or decent wheels. Minifigures are fantastic though, shame they can't be bought separately.

Catchy, rhythmic and dub as f*** remix of Ol' Dirty B*st*rd's track. First heard this on 'Breaking Bad' and had to find as an MP3. Now plan to explore more of Prince Fatty's work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's meant to, 29 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This item instantly starts to draw moisture out of the air. We have a moderate damp problem in our house and I am getting one of these for every room. Refills are cost effective and it works out cheaper than running a mains powered dehumidifier. I doubt they are as effective but as the reservoir fills up fast they do what they're meant to. Loses a star due to the flimsy plastic construction but don't let that stop you.

This review is from: The Pumpkin Man (Kindle Edition)
Neither scary or horrifying this story just about makes you keep reading to find out the mystery killer's identity. The author's writing style is painfully simple and dialogue is banal in extremist. However he seems a very interesting guy from his biog and anyone who can get published has my respect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent title from the master, 30 Nov. 2013

Absorbing, warmly written and highly informative as we can always expect from the master of railway books. Covers entire history of America's railroads and their key players. I recommend all rail enthusiasts read this and all Mr Wolmar's titles.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting curiosity, 25 May 2013

Despite the interesting topic the length is brief and could have been summed up in a magazine article. Price is too high for content.

2.0 out of 5 stars A pale shadow of previous Lego titles for PSP, 10 Feb. 2011
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
The first three Lego games ported to PSP were fantastic; great controls, graphics fun to play. Sadly, this title is nothing like the others, Traveler's Tales chosing to save money and port the DS version over rather than create one unique to PSP. Thus, mini games such as potion making and building ladders which were originally created for use with a DS stylus and controls are having to be played using PSP controls and it just doesn't work well. Also, the only being able to jump between fixed points (whereas the previous Lego PSP titles had freeplay environments), dialogue boxes, dull graphics and cut scenes that frequently stick become increasingly annoying. Hopefully when Lego Starwars 3 and Lego Pirates of the Carribean come out on PSP they will return to the old, better style. But somehow I doubt it.

God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question--Why We Suffer
God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question--Why We Suffer

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading for believers and non believers, 17 Oct. 2010
Whilst 'Jesus, Interrupted' by the same author, plus most of his other titles, are based around the 'speculation passed as fact' that is biblical historical criticism when there is a lot of evidence for the Bible's accuracy; 'God's Problem' is a well thought out arguement that the Bible fails to explain why humans suffer and why God allows it. Ehrman say that this must mean the Christian God does not exist. Whilst I disagree with that, I do understand (and have personal experience of) suffering being the greatest challenge to belief. What it comes down to is that you either have faith that God will make all right when Jesus returns (that everything is part of his plan), or you feel that the lack of intervention by God in the world to prevent suffering means he can't exist in the Christian definition of God. I will say that the book is full of unnecessary repetition that gets a bit annoying after a while. An interesting read for folk like me who struggle with faith and want to read up on all perspectives. Plus, I fully agree with Ehrman that there are no interpretations/explanations of the book of Job that make it anything other than thoroughly unpleasant and disturbing.

JESUS OF NAZARETH: Millenarian Prophet
JESUS OF NAZARETH: Millenarian Prophet
by Dale C. Allison
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.99

2.0 out of 5 stars Does a good job of showing Jesus did deal with apocalyptic ideas but misses the point of the Gospels and Jesus' life., 6 Jun. 2010
Clearly the author is very learned and has a vast base of knowledge and literature to draw from. Well argued and backed up, the book proves that Jesus did indeed proclaim the coming Kingdom of God and the end of the old world. These ideas have been dismissed by some academics and (more worryingly) theologians. Unfortunately Allison fails to see the real theme and purpose of the New Testament and Jesus' life/death. Indeed, the resurrection is dismissed out of hand. No mention is made of the uniting theme that runs through all books of the New Testament, that of Jesus as a devoted servant of God, who suffered and was executed for his faith and love of Mankind and was then raised to new life in God. Also, 'Q' seems to be accepted by the author as an actual document rather than an unproved hypothesis. Paul was not the founder of modern Christianity but one of the key figures amongst the communities who knew Jesus to be the risen Christ.
