Worth the wait!, 17 Oct 2013
OK, so I will be the first to admit that I am biased towards this film. Living in the States means I've always known this movie as "The Horror of Dracula", and I've always heard about the mythical censored scenes from the "Japanese version", never knowing if they really existed. Imagine my delight when I read that the scenes did indeed exist, and that they had been meticulously restored to the new Blu-ray version. Not willing to wait to see if this disc would be released in the U.S., I purchased a fantastic, though admitedly expensive, multi-region Blu-ray player through Amazon, just to see this disc.
And I was not disappointed. The two restored scenes were sensational, and the rest of the movie looks fantastic. It was also exciting to see the original, ornate "Dracula" title, as opposed to the American version I am accustomed to. The special features are great as well, and provide an insight into the restoration process. All in all, I a extremely satisfied with this disc.
