5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book, 3 Dec 2012

This review is from: The Coin Yearbook (Paperback)
This is an excellent book for the novice/beginner coin collector. Am sure it will also be beneficial to the more knowledgeable collectors, but i can only review it as a newbie.

As there is no 'Look Inside' feature the contents are as follows
Foreward
60 Glorious Years
Museum archive
Monarchs of England
View of the Bay .....................................(about buying off Ebay)
Dates on coins
Glossary of coin terms .............................(very useful
Mintmarks of the World
Coin inscriptions
Glossary of abbreviations of metallic composition
Care of coins .....................................(very useful)
Cleaning of years ..................................(very useful)
Celtic coinage of Britain
Collecting Ancient coins
Introducing hammered coinage
Coin grading
Price Guide .........(the main part)...(colour coded pages for ease of use)
Directory
Treasure and the Law
Index to Advertisers

There is some adverts in the book (and some plugging), but this was also useful as i learnt where and when some local coin fairs were to be held.

Am pleased with this book and can recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars I just did not dig it, 5 Jan 2009

It was with great excitement that i began to read On The Road. But very soon into the book i started to lose interest. The characters were an unlikable bunch. Especially the main character Dean Moriarty. Plus there was on real storyline. I just do not see what the Beatniks and Hipsters got out of the book.
