5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Primer, 17 May 2013
Having been a fan of Simon Leach's YouTube videos for some time it's very nice to have this book and its accompanying DVDs as a permanent reference and guide. Lots of useful info, from setting up a studio to making your own glazes and techniques to develop your skills. Simon is a knowledgeable teacher with a relaxed style and the DVDs show some of his key technique clips.

As a beginner, this is a book I'm sure I'll refer to a good deal but I tend to think there would also be things of interest here for the somewhat more experienced practitioner too.

Well detailed and thorough with lots of very wearable designs. Useful tips with each garment on how to achieve the best fit and nice to see patterns which cover a good range of plus sizes rather than stopping at about a 48" bust!

5.0 out of 5 stars Noirish Fun, 8 Jan 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I'm not much of a gamer and find a lot of them boring but I really enjoyed this. I do think it helps if you enjoy reading, as this is a very wordy game, and being a fan of film noir and old detective novels would probably help too!

As others have said, this isn't one for those who just want lots of action but if you enjoy a good story and atmospheric settings then you won't go far wrong with Hotel Dusk. I really liked the look of the game and the ease of navigation within it. Although some of the puzzles are very easy they are mixed in with enough thought-provoking, head-scratching ones that it doesn't lose your interest and the writing, at its best, is worthy of any good mystery novel.

I really hope there's a sequel, it's certainly worth it!
