5.0 out of 5 stars Protective and solid!, 13 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not slim and elegant but solid and protective and also lightweight - and looks good in a fun and attractive purple! I bought it for my mother for Christmas and she promptly fell over on it when carrying it home - no damage to it or the Kindle! It does all that it says and stands up well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Painfully accurate, 26 Sep 2011
It is an opportune moment to delve into the dangerous powers of mind over matter when even the fiercely sceptical New Scientist magazine recently concluded that hypnosis is surprisingly effective at treating pain. We experiment for ourselves with a heroine desperate enough to get into situations we'd prefer to experience vicariously. Yet the adventure manages to take over the reader's mind too: don't plan to read just a few pages and try not to start reading it alone in the dark. It starts off very grounded in the grime of London's busy Clapham Junction railway station and the twinges of a quintessentially modern affliction, RSI, keenly observed, but it gets darker. You have been warned.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last!, 8 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bags stay up in bin, are strong enough to hold the recycled food and don't degrade before the next rubbish collection. A good purchase - solves a problem.
PS now got some 30 litre bags which work even better - I can't believe that small bin takes 30 litres!

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Writer's Block a Thing of the Past!, 4 Feb 2011
This is a well-structured simple guide to writing a book and getting it published, and short enough that you pick it up to skim through and find you've read a large chunk of it, as opposed to those books you buy meaning to read and put aside for later - permanently. I particularly liked the practical ideas such as going off and making meatballs when you are stuck for ideas, with the result that the ideas flow just when your hands are covered in slime. And I like the way the humour makes writing sound fun, as it is when you have Roz Morris at your side commanding you to defeat the temptation to do everything to put off writing a difficult section and inspiring you with wacky ideas to overcome writer's block.

Good start to cable tidying but ends do fray if you try to cut it. Still recommend but ended up buying a box as well which finally completely did the trick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Safe and still small, 6 Dec 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
love the kindle but seemed vulnerable. Leather wallet looked good but bulky. Neoprene sleeve:Disadvantage: you have to get the kindle out before the packed commuter trains moves off. Advantage: it takes up no space in evenquite a small handbag and you don't need to worry about scratching the kindle. A student on a train actually asked me where I got it.

40 for a box? but see the before and after photos - we got 3 boxes and all the cables are tidy and we can hoover the whole floor under the desk. Before: The cables are a complete mess and they're thick with dust! After:That's tidy!Hope they sell loads so the price comes down.

Grace Williams Says it Loud
Grace Williams Says it Loud
by Emma Henderson
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Gritty yet sophisticated - a challenging and moving read, 20 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Emma Henderson's brand new book "Grace Williams says it loud" is a fresh and, to a traditional reader, perhaps uncomfortably frank approach to novel-writing and to how society copes with people who do not fit in with normal life. The subject-matter is basic, the style gritty, yet at the same time her account is structured and sophisticated. Through a powerful first person narrative she opens up a vivid but uneasy perspective into a different shadowy world that we all knew existed but mainly chose to ignore. It is not all gloom and doom, however, as she presents us with detailed accounts of the resilience of human beings, many of whom are barely recognised as such by much of the world around them, and their attempts to brighten their lives with humour and even love. The ending also answers with a loud affirmative the question as to whether British society has made any progress since the 1950's! A book which surprises, enlightens and moves the reader and must surely become a modern classic.
