Into the Killer Sphere: a Chase Williams murder case (Chase Williams detective stories Book 1)
Price: £0.93

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent Murder Mystery, 10 Sep 2014

Into the Killer Sphere (Chase Williams Detective Stories, #1) by Stefania Mattana is a classy detective thriller mystery set in beautiful Italy. If like me you love Agatha Christie then this will not disappoint - it will fulfil all your detective mystery needs.
First you have the retired Scotland Yard detective, Chase Williams, who has found a beautiful ancient walled city in Italy to live in. But murder is never too far away and he uses his skills to help local police investigate a seemingly accidental death at a wealthy household.
Second, cue in the suspects, of which there are plenty, most have alibis and here the reader will have the most fun sorting out the evidence as it filters down to Chase.
Third, get blown away by the riveting finale which I will not use 1 word to describe. So settle down in front of the fire and help Chase solve this murder mystery.
FIVE STARS for this crime detective mystery that ticks all the boxes and then some. Very highly recommended.

The Water Lily Fairy at the Ice Cream Palace by Mary Ann Vitale filled me with such delight and reminded me of my childhood where everything was filled with magic and mystery. Again the author has captured those childhood traits and used them to create this sweet tale of a fairy helping poor children get their wishes. Discover how greed can be turned on itself to help those less fortunate. And if you love ice cream then you'll scoop tis up by the spoonful. Beautifully done with a love for Sicily. A must read for all children who believe there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
FIVE STARS for a children's fairy tale ad very highly recommended.

The Water Lily Fairy by Mary Ann Vitale is a wonderful children's short story that captured my heart and never let go. The pictures are quite stunning, matching perfectly the simple yet enchanting tale of a mischievous fairy who listens to the poor children's wishes and makes them come true with spectacular results. Warm, sigh-worthy and just as scrummy as a box of chocolates. This lovely tale set in Sicily is worth its weight in gold coins.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Killer Thriller, 5 Sep 2014

Homecoming Blues by Andrew Scorah is a no-holds barred blast away thriller set in the seedy London crime world. I love the author's direct style, clipped dialogue and frantic action, all perfectly wrapped into a neat bundle gift-wrapped in the full nine yards.
Jimmy Dalton returns from his tour of duty carrying hell on his shoulders. He has no time to relax with his father, chill with some beers, not for Jimmy. He is thrust back into the action and uses his considerable skills to search and rescue the daughter of a local gangland crime boss. But all is not as it seems, betrayal is one step ahead of Jimmy all the way.
If you like fierce action, martial arts and gun play then this book is right up your street. Never mess with Jimmy Dalton.
FIVE STARS or this action thriller and highly recommended.

White Bones (Katie Maguire 1)
White Bones (Katie Maguire 1)
Price: £2.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Detective Masterpiece, 2 Sep 2014
One wet November morning, a field on Meagher's Farm gives up the dismembered bones of eleven women. In this part of Ireland, unmarked graves are common. But these bones date to 1915, long before the Troubles. What's more, these bones bear the marks of a meticulous executioner. These women were almost certainly skinned alive.

White Bones (Katie Maguire #1) by Graham Masterton is quite simply a detective masterpiece. The author has re-invented the rather dry genre and given it a hefty boot up the backside with a dose of horror like no other. The main character,Detective Katie Maguire, of the Cork Garda, is lovingly described as a feisty woman battling crime and her own male colleagues' testosterone attitudes.
The rather gruesome storyline revolves around a recently discovered gravesite where eleven bodies are found. The manner in which they died suggests to Katy a ritualistic murder, but who cares they all died 100 years ago. Now the killer has seemingly returned. The suspense is nerve-wracking and attention to detail spot on in this incredible detective thriller.
Well done to Graham Masterton for creating a new series that is so way outside the box.
FIVE STARS for this detective horror thriller and very highly recommended.

This review is from: The Last Sunset (Kindle Edition)
The Last Sunset by Bob Atkinson is an incredible rush of Highland adventure, apocalyptic prophecy, time travel and romance all rolled into one helluva awesome novel. I had no idea what I was letting myself in for and boy, am I glad I did. The sights, sounds and smells of the Highlands are richly described and lovingly painted onto a canvas worthy of DaVinci. Every page exudes magical prose, such realistic dialogue and action sequences to take the breath away.
The time ravel story deftly juggles two brothers from 1916, soldiers from 1976 training for duty in Northern Ireland and an American couple from 2026 visiting the Highlands where a terrible atrocity was committed by the English Army two and half centuries before.
These disparate groups join forces when an apocalyptic event alters time sending them back to 1746 to help the Highlanders fight the ruthless and cruel English.
The author has created a historical masterpiece on a staggering scale that should be read by every lover of historical fiction fantasy time travel.
FIVE STARS and vey highly recommended for lovers of Historical Fiction.

Vulgarian Vamp (Wendy Darlin Tomb Raider Book 5)
Vulgarian Vamp (Wendy Darlin Tomb Raider Book 5)
Price: £1.79

5.0 out of 5 stars Vamp Revamped, 28 Aug 2014

Vulgarian Vamp (Wendy Darlin Tomb Raider Book 5) by Barbara Silkstone is a wonderfully funny paranormal romp for all ages to enjoy. From the brilliant opening chapter that throws the reader right into the deep end of the ocean, this reader could not put the book down. I loved every wonderfully amusing page full of girlish anecdotes, snarky remarks and pure adventure of the hair-raising, blow-drying, room-service kind.
Wendy Darlin is getting married, well she kinda has too. One would think the tomb-raiding business would be set aside so she can marry future hubby Doc Roger Jolley in the strangest of all countries - Vulgaria. And of course Wendy attracts all manner of strange characters and weird goings on of the vampire kind. Cue a plethora of vampire in jokes, name dropping and such teasing I couldn't stop chuckling.
This book is a must for all readers who like their tongues firmly in their cheeks, like snippy humor at its best and most of all love to have a laugh.
FIVE STARS for this paranormal adventure for all the family and very highly recommended.

Coyote Series (Coyote, #1-3)by Dianne Harman is a box set I just had to have. This series of sharp thrillers is a joy to read and each book just keeps on getting better. The characters are well fleshed out, the plot thickens with each glorious chapter and leaves the reader wanting more.
