3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable for occasional use, not for moderate/heavy printer users, 27 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a reasonable printer if you're going to be be printing the odd word/spreadsheet document at home. If, however, you work from home, run a business, or do a significant amount of printing then you should look elsewhere.

On the positive side, it was easy enough to set up, it scans quickly, the print quality is reasonable for the odd document, and the printer is reasonably priced. However, the positives are out-weighed by the printer continually dropping the wifi signal and, therefore, us having to constantly switch the router on and off. If the printer has been idle for a while it takes forever to warm up and get started - lots of huffing and puffing from the machine before it starts to print. Manually having to place a page at a time for scanning can be cumbersome and laborious.

You will need to change the print settings to avoid the printer drinking up your ink - another reviewer has provided a guide on how to do this.

Designing Brand Identity: An Essential Guide for the Whole Branding Team

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on designing (and ultimately developing) a brand - recommend for comms/marketing practitioners, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is, by some distance, the best book I have purchased that looks at how to design/build a brand.

I've bought quite a number of books on this topic and they all suffer from either being (a) incredibly academic (and, therefore, dull to read), (b) full of waffle and jargon, or (c) the author has a completely over-inflated opinion about him/herself and their book is largely condescending. The worst books combine all three aspects - feel free to peruse my other reviews on Amazon.

Where Designing Brand Identity stands out is that it is easy to read and follow - beginners to this topic will find it just as easy to follow as experienced practitioners. It's written in a very engaging way and is literally a step-by-step guide on designing and developing your brand. I would also say don't be out off by the 'Designing' part of the title - this book is not just for those setting out to design a new brand. Experienced brand professionals will also find a wealth of information in here, either as refresher material, or (because the book is completely up to date) for information on developing your brand in 2013 onwards - including across websites, mobile and tablet platforms.

The book is split into three parts. The first presents the fundamental concepts of branding, covering the basics from what is a brand and brand identity, to brand ideals, brand elements and brand dynamics.

The second part covers the process(es) involved in designing a brand - with a big slant on processes, it covers research, audits, competitive analysis, strategy, design, touchpoints and managing assets.

The final part of the book covers a number of case studies - from brands of all sizes - and reinforces the best practices that were covered earlier in the book.

At 300+ pages, this isn't a small book by any stretch of the imagination, however, it's easy to read and follow and you can dip in and out of it depending on where you are in your brand journey. I'd highly recommend this to anyone working in communications and marketing too - you'll learn a lot more about how a brand is developed, and that knowledge will make your campaigns all the more powerful.

5pcs Sunglasses Eyeglasses Glas?ses Soft Cloth Drawstring Dust Pouch Carry Bag
5pcs Sunglasses Eyeglasses Glas?ses Soft Cloth Drawstring Dust Pouch Carry Bag

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best quality, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not the greatest quality pouches - I'm not sure I'd classify them as soft cloth (they're a bit more rubbery than soft), but they keep my sports specs covered and you can use the cloth to clean the lenses. I got 5 pieces - all in feminine blue shades. I'm sure it's pot luck what colours you get.

Found a slightly better and genuine soft cloth pouch on a famous online auction site.

BRIO 33535 Battery Operated Action Train
BRIO 33535 Battery Operated Action Train

4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, if a little slow, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great little train that chugs happily along the Brio tracks. The cement mixer goes round and round, and the coal hopper tilts from side to side as the train goes along the tracks. One star off because it's only got one speed - very slow - which means little hands are always trying to push it along to go faster. Battery life seems to be ok - we certainly haven't experienced the train draining the battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 24 May 2013

One year old son loves this book, he enjoys getting tickles and kisses from Boris! He knows the book so well, that when he turns the pages, he automatically goes straight in for a kiss.

The book itself is very enjoyable with an easy-to-follow storyline. The fact that parents can really help bring the book to life is great. Highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for giving kids confidence in the pool, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Zoggs Kids' Dive Sticks (Sports)
Really recommend these dive sticks for anyone who has young kids that are learning how to swim/dive in a pool. They're great motivation and the kids find them a lot of fun. Parents can join in too, and it seems no matter how far you throw them across a pool, they go straight to the bottom of the pool and stand upright.

We have competitions to see who can grab the most sticks - the kids usually win. A fun way to build confidence in little swimmers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant beanbag, 15 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought the kids a couple of these at Christmas, and they are terrific beanbags. Big enough for an adult to it in them, the kids just sink into them. They're used as mats when the kids jump off the sofa - I honestly thought they would break/split/tear under that kind of use, but to their credit the beanbags have stayed intact. Material is very durable and can actually be placed so they're in the shape of a chair.

An excellent product and highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super soft and very huggable, 15 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Kids love it - so much so, I had to buy another one to stop them from fighting over it.

It's incredibly soft and very huggable. Quality is good and it's great for little people's heads when they fall asleep. Handy to carry around when visiting grandparents etc and you know they're going to need nap at some point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for sensitive skin, 15 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Why I haven't bought this product before, I'll never know.

I have very sensitive skin and can't use the usual antiperspirants and deodorants that you can buy in the supermarkets, Boots etc - those products normally contain a couple of chemicals that my skin gets a reaction to. I've been using the Simple showergel for a couple of years and recently came across this roll-on. It's small, but perfectly formed. Doesn't leave any residue on the underarm and works for pretty much the entire day.

My skin hasn't adversely reacted to it. If you have sensitive skin/underarms, this is a product well worth considering.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great with the new iMac, 15 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've used LaCie Quadra hard drives previously and have always been impressed with them. The v3 3TB is no different and works a charm with the new iMac. Very easy to set up - took 5 minutes and the in-built menu talks you through the process. Backed up the mac very quickly using USB3.

Usually sturdy build and feel to the hard drive, plenty of cable length and the drive backs up very quietly.
Overall, a little on the pricey side, but I can't fault it and would highly recommend.
