5.0 out of 5 stars As OTT as it can get..., 11 Jun. 2015

Wonderfully OTT spy romp with some of the most gratuitous violence I've ever witnessed outside of a Tarantino movie.

Great ensemble (Colin Firth and Mark Strong especially shine) and fun story. Recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst films I've ever seen., 11 April 2014

This review is from: Pacific Rim (Amazon Video)
Terrible script, horrendous acting and...well, I'm almost beyond words. Particularly galling is the Guillermo Del Toro is directing and the usually excellent Idris Elba stars.
Dreadful, just dreadful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Unwatchable, 21 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Safe House (Amazon Video)
Picture was fine, but sound quality was appalling. Choppy and unlistenable. Gave up after about half hour and am really annoyed. Could have been a good film, but now I'll never know will I? Thanks Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Lovely Book, 14 Sept. 2013

Beautifully, and lovingly put together tribute to a great and legendary band. Only one gripe: some of the writing, especially the some of the reviews, read like they were written by a 12 year-old.

Anyway, that aside, it arrived in great time and it's just a pleasure to read and flick through in idle moments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, 20 Aug. 2013

Despite Morris's reticence to be directly interviewed for this book, the author has done a great job in terms of stringing the subject's friend's stories together into an entertaining and informative piece. There are some moments that are just incredibly funny.

Thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Before Time..., 4 Mar. 2010

I remember watching this as a 10 year old and being absolutely spellbound. Although much of the class structure of those years I obviously didn't understand the acting of the wonderful, and criminally underrated Lee Remick (sadly no longer with us)in the title role, and the remarkable perforance of Ronald Pickup as Churchill's syphillitic father Randolph were enough.

I remember having a heartbreaking crush on Lee Remick for years after and often looking for the DVD version, which I've only just found out is now available. Thank you Network for finally releasing what I believe to be the finest costume drama of the 70s.

Also, this is beautifully scored by Andre Previn. Bravo all round!
