Scrambles in Snowdonia (Cicerone Guide)
Scrambles in Snowdonia (Cicerone Guide)
by Steve Ashton
Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.36

5.0 out of 5 stars Authoritative craziness, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The author notes at one point in this book that many of the scrambles he describes are horribly dangerous and frightening undertakings and I have to agree. Nevertheless, if you are planning a scrambling trip to Snowdonia, look no further. This book is the last word.

4.0 out of 5 stars horse packing in pictures, 23 April 2014

In the unlikely event that you are an UK customer intent on learning how to pack horses then I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to you. Why only four stars? Well, I would also recommend you purchase Packing in on Mules and Horses by Smoke Elder and Bill Brown for the full picture. Nevertheless, you won't go wrong with this charmingly illustrated book

Finch
Finch

Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars psychedelic detective, 23 April 2014

This review is from: Finch (Paperback)
If you liked Shreik you'll live Finch. It's more accessible and more entertaining than Shreik but just as good, just as haunting, just as creepy.

The Sacred Book of the Werewolf
The Sacred Book of the Werewolf
by Victor Pelevin
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars love this book, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love Pelevin, the reincarnation of Michael Bulgakov, Philip K Dick and very possibly Hunter S Thompson. This is his best full length novel; full of hilarity, humanity and transcendence. And foxes.

XMI X-Mini II 2nd Generation Capsule Speaker for iPhone/iPad/iPod/MP3 Player/Laptop - Black
Price: £9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I lost my original speaker and bought another one. The xmini is an excellent travel speaker, mind bogglingly loud for what it is and it,s even OK for listening to music through. You will be startled at how much bass it can generate.

Toolzone 50kg Fishing Pocket Spring Balance Weighing Scale

Price: £2.71

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Used every day for months, this is a strong, effective sporting balance. Why only four stars? Well, I used the balance to check that two bags were equal weight and at this task it performs well but it isn't the most accurate when it comes to checking actual weight. Of course, this is what most people will want the balance, so......

Lonely Planet Mongolia (Travel Guide)
Lonely Planet Mongolia (Travel Guide)
by Lonely Planet
Edition: Paperback
Price: £16.99

2.0 out of 5 stars out of date, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm not sure when Lonely Planet last visited Mongolia but it surely wasn't this side of 2010. Ulaanbaatar has changed drastically in the intervening time, resistants have closed, hostels have gone bad, Prices have gone up considerably. Honestly, you're better off with Trip Advisor for UB and a map for the rest of the country.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent sharpener, 23 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Forgot my previous knife sharpener when moving house and that cost three times as much so naturally I was a little dubious about how this tool would perform but it's actually better, the best sharpening tool I've had. Very quick, very easy to use and works on blunt knives as well as those just needing a little polish. It's much easier to use than a Japanese water stone and works very well on Japanese hardened steel. It's also pocket size and comes in a fetching leather pouch.

Transition
Transition
by Iain Banks
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Michael Moorcock meets Iain Banks, 14 May 2011
This review is from: Transition (Paperback)
For anybody who has read Michael Moorcock's "multiverse" books, this novel will seem uncannily similar, even down to the Una Persson like character, Mrs Mulverhill. This is not to cast a slur on Banks. He certainly does Moorcock justice and writes with a fire and enthusiasm that has been lacking in his non-culture books ever since "The Business". This is a cracking return to form, which is genuinely thrilling as it reaches the climax. Banks still can't write a decent ending but hey, he can certainly do the rest.

Tunturi Massage Ball (Pair)
Tunturi Massage Ball (Pair)

4.0 out of 5 stars Massage Ball, 10 Jan 2011
It's a massage ball. It works. You get two for a price that buys one elsewhere. it would have garnered 5 stars if the colour weren't so dull.
