So Good I'm Buying Another!, 4 Sep 2011
The most important thing to say is....great value! Its a neat, simple package, it works and it comes with an in car charger. For the price, that is all you need to know...but in case you don't believe me, here are more details.
When I changed car and no longer had a direct plug-in for my ipod into the sound system, buying this type of gadget was the most simple solution. As it plugs straight into the apple-style conector on both my ipod and iphone, its very quick to set up and doesn't need a battery or other power source. If you want to charge the ipod/phone at the same time you can do it with this little chap and the in-car chager. Great - but 2 small reservations. 1/ the chager is not good at filtering out noise from the car alternator which you can hear as a whine on the audio. Use a better quality charger to plug into the mini USB and the noise disapears. 2/ when using the sat nav app on my iphone the charger just manages to keep the thing running but does not have current spare to charge the battery. Well did you expect a good charger for the price? No. Use the more expensive in-car charger you already bought for your phone for a about the same price as this complete set!
As with any low power radio transmitter, consider where your car-radio ariel is situated. Mine is built into the back windscreen which means I sometimes have to be creatinve about where to mount transmitter for a good reception! Under the pasanger sun visor is usually a good one.
After 6 months faithfull service, my kids managed to wreck the transmiter on a holiday trip to France last week. Be carefull not to bang the thing about too much when its pluged into your ipod as the connector will eventually come loose as mine has. For a while it worked with a bit of wiggling but alas no more. Hence I am buying a new one. Maybe two just in case!
