4.0 out of 5 stars Great basic headset at a good price., 26 Jun 2014

If your just after a basic headset for voice chat, then this definitely worth your consideration. I bought i slightly more expensive Turtle Beach basic headset like this(The P4C), and surprisingly found the volume level no better on the Turtle Beach, and if anything, this one a bit more comfortable, as its not as weighty on one side like the Turtle Beach one was.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most comprehensive Killzone title in the series!, 26 Jun 2014

If you have a Vita and you like the Killzone or action and shooting games in general, then this is an absolute must! The graphics are astounding for a hand held machine and in general. You could be forgiven for thinking your playing a home console game, and most surprisingly, it FEELS like your playing a home console game too. The controls are nice, and the aiming is accurate, precise and satisfying. It's a nice twist to the series that your a Mercenary, and earn money as you go to buy ammo, upgrades and equipment, and can work for both the ISA and the Helgast, as your a freelancer.

What surprised me the most however, is that this is the most comprehensive Killzone game in the entire series, including the console and PS4 games! It is deeper in how you play, opting for stealth or the direct approach, the way you earn money, and the sheer amount and choice of equipment you can have in the game to buy, from multiple drone types to air strikes, Fantastic!

My one criticism, is that if you want to play the multiplayer modes against Bots, you have to buy the Bots mode to unlock it, which i think is very cheap of the developer and should not be something you have to pay for separately! Seeing as the campaign is my primary reason for getting the game, its not so bad for me, but this will be a slap in the face for the people who wanted to play the bots mode, and something i may resent when i've played the campaign so many times. It's a shame the Campaign doesn't have Co-Op too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great vale for the price, but a little quieter than i'd like., 26 Jun 2014

This is a nice headset if you just want one for chat while playing. It feels a little weighty on the side with the earpiece, but its a nice build on the whole, and the flex on the mic is nice and works well and bends wherever and however you want it to and stays in place well. The sound from the earpiece is quieter than i would have liked, but for the money, and as a basic headset for online voice chat, i can't really complain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great machine for a bargain of a price!, 26 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was looking for a Vita, and found this. As advertised, i got a 3G Vita, a 16 gig Vita memory card and a code for 6 Disney games. I wasn't really interested in the games, but even so, is a fantastic bargain for £150! The machine is a fantastic piece of kit too, highly recommend this as a machine, and as a package.

ButterFox Braided Charge and Play Cable for PS4 and Xbox One - 4M
ButterFox Braided Charge and Play Cable for PS4 and Xbox One - 4M
Offered by Game Access
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want a decent long cable, look no further., 26 Jun 2014
I was pleasantly surprised when i found out that Butterfox actually made leads too, as i have found they're thumb pads the best i have tried to date. I was looking for a long one, so i can plug my PS4's pad into my PS3, as you can use your PS4 pad in your PS3 as long as its plugged in, or to use as a play and charge lead for my PS4, so was happy to give this Butterfox lead a go. The lead is longer than most will ever need, and has a protected but flexible cable. Of course it works on anything else that uses a micro usb connection, but for my joypad, its perfect because of its length. Needles to say, i like this lead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Offers great grip for your thumb sticks!, 16 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A friend of mine recommended these thumb pads to me, because he knew I was finding the built in thumb pads on the PS4 a bit on the slippery side, especially the left one for some reason. So I looked them up on Amazon, and liked the look of the designs, so decided to give them a go.. After receiving them and unpacked them to have a feel, to be honest when I first felt them in my fingers, I didn't feel they would offer as much as, let alone more grip than the other thumb grips I had bought, but when I actually put them on the sticks, it was a whole different story! They are actually extremely grippy and makes my thumbs feel so much more secure when I'm playing than any other thumbstick tops I've used. You get two sets of different grips, I personally prefer the ones with the two sets of circular grips just inside the inner edge, and the Wife prefers the one's with the knobbly edges, but both are comfortable. They do make the sticks a bit taller than I would like ideally, but I guess this should be expected when your putting grips over the original thumb stick tops and you soon get used to it. They are tight to get on, but bear with it, because when you get them on, they are very secure, and the underside of the grip does not touch the pad itself at any point or interfere with the rotation, so that is good. If you want some thumb sticks that offer loads of grip that fit very securely, I highly recommend these Butterfox ones., its certainly made a difference for me :-)

Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition (Xbox 360)
Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition (Xbox 360)
Offered by RUGELEY GAMES
Price: £28.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable value for money!, 2 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Even before the price came down, and this was full price, this was amazing value for money! What you get here is the superb Borderlands 2 game, and ALL the DLC that was on the Premier Club version upon release(Gaige, the Mecromancer pack primarily), and all the substantial DLC story packs that came out after Including Captain Scarlett and her Pitate's Booty, Mr Torgues Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock's Big game hunt, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, and the new Psycho class character among a few other things.. Which in themselves add many more hours to the main game.

What i really like about this, is that all the extra content comes on a second disk, and you can install or uninstall that content to into the game as you see fit, so if you don't want to install the extra missions until you finish the main game for example, and wanna install them one at a time as you do them, you can. It's also always nice to have the extra content there on a disk, you you know you always have it and do not require an internet connection and service to access it, which is awesome.

As i say, at full price this game of the year addition is an absolute bargain, but at the prices it's going for now, it's an outright steal! There's really is no excuse for not getting this game, unluss you have all the content already of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you enjoyed EDF-2017, You'll love this!, 2 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'll start by saying that this game isn't going to appeal to everyone. It's very Japanese in feel, and some might see it as slightly corny, but man, is this game a lot of fun!..

To those unfamiliar with the series, you are in the titular Earth Defence Force, an organisation that exists solely to fight extra terrestrial threats to Earth, similar to X-Com but on a much larger scale in an action game form. This is where the game is slightly corny, because this threat(Refered to as the Ravagers), comes in the form of Giant Bugs of various types, Giant Ships and Giant Robots and other monsters(Yes, eveything is BIG in this game regarding enemies)which is the very appeal of the game to its fans.

The game can be played Solo or Co-Op 2 player locally or up to 4 players online, which is great as it's always more fun in Co-Op but still fun single player in my opinion. There are simply loooooads of missions in the game, almost a hundred in fact(with DLC packs making it almost 150?!), far more than most games have these days.. Some are short, but most are a good length but always fun. I wont go into the classes too much, but there's four different classes of EDF soldier you can choose from, which are the Ranger: your standard jack of all trades/master of none soldier, Fencer: a heavily armoured slow moving exoskeleton wearing human sized tank with larger weapons, The Wing Diver: a female Jet Pack wearing flying/walking, weaker armored but faster character that employs alien inspired energy weaponry, and the Air Raider, a more tactical support class character that can call in Airstrikes, deploy mines and similar weapons and explosives and order vehicles for the team to use. In fact there are many, many weapons to collect and unlock as you progress through the game, some improved/alternative versions of what you already have, some not.

The graphics are nothing to wrote home about in the game, but but they do seem to improve with every title that comes out, and they are certainly more than adequate here, especially considering the open naturee of the enviroments and the epic scale of the battles in terms of the size and quantity of the enemies and destructibility of the levels(Just about every building can be reduced to rubble if you had the inclination). I've seen a few others complain about occasional frame rate issues, but i have not encountered any at all in all honesty, on the 360 version at least.

The game is great fun if you relax and accept it for what it is, an unpretentious gloriously over the top single player/Co-Op shooter. I do have a couple of complains however. While you can happily play through the game in single player using the Ranger, Fencer and Wing Diver classes, it would be extremely hard to do so as the Air Raider due to its support class nature, and the problem is, you can't experience vehicles without an Air Raider, because only an Air Raider can call in vehicles.. In EDF-2017, (and all the other EDF games to my knowledge) vehicles could be found lying around for you to jump into and utilise, and no particular class was needed to get them, but with no Air raider in this game, you simply have to do without, but the vehicles are a big draw to many fans of the series, but being forced to use the rather niche/limited Air Raider to use them, is not good, not good at all.... Even then you can only equipe one type of vehicle you can call in per mission, which you choose before the mission starts, so there's no ability to adap and call a vehicle dependant on what is needed for any given situation. It is great to see a much great choice of vehicles in this game to 2017, but having having to use an Air Raider to actually be able to use them, has also taken a lot away from the game to the point you hardly get to use these vehicles at all.. Shame, because otherwise, everything else is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice product exactly as advertised, but pretty slow delivery.., 2 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I absolutely love the case itself, It looks good and as advertised as adverstised in its cool solver colour. It is indeed a hard shell which offeres grood protection and fits the vita & a few other bits such as games and leads in nicely with its screen protecting flap, straps and holding net. If you don't mind the wait, as the delivery is slow because it comes from overseas, it is a great product. I ordered mine on 16th may, however it wasn't even dispatched until 20th may, so the company could maybe look at getting their dispatches out faster to improve their delivery times(I say this as a dispatch/warehouse operative myself),& even then was then given a 28th may to June 17th arrival date. while i do understand the delivery time will suffer due to the product coming long distance, the dispatch time could be looked at and improved as i say. It did indeed arrive at the end of may, but the packaging could be a little better, as there was very slight indentations in the product when it arrived, but they're hardly noticable, but could be perhaps avoided with better packaging. In perspecive, it's very good for the price though everything taken into account, so i have no real complaints ultimately, hence the 5 star score. I will just finish by re-iterating though, if you need the product in a hurry, be aware of the fairly slow delivery time.

4.0 out of 5 stars An exellent update of a classic!, 14 Jun 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Don't let the name fool you, This is in no uncertain terms an up to date re-make of the classic Carrier Command on the Atari St, Amiga & PC. They have added so much more gameplay & scope from the original game though, trust me. The rolling landscapes of the island are satisfying to navigate, there's plenty to do while running the carrier,& there's loads of weapons, armour & equipment upgrades for the vehicles(including the carrier itself)to discover. The mantas are an absolute joy to fly,& The Walruses are fun to navigate the terrain & fight in too. You can play how you want. You can command your units from the map/tactical screen & watch it play out, or you can jump into them at any time, so you can play it exactly how you want, simply brilliant!

Don't be fooled by the fact this is on console. Its a immensely deep & complex game thats very absorbing. Its probably the most deep & complex game i've ever played on console, & i wish there was more games like this if i'm honest. It takes a while to get to grips with the interface & how it all works, but once it clicks,it is so compelling to play. I have to commend the developer & publisher for getting this game made, & their love for the original game really shows through. I understand the MD of the company that got it made, was a big fan of the original game,& wanted this game made, & it tells.

There's two modes to this game. The conquest mode of the original game. Two carriers trying to take all the islands, & there's the story mode. Personally i'm playing the story mode because it has some narrative, but even that is a really long term game, with many islands to control & keep control of. Its like the conquest game, but with a narrative. The story mode also sees you out of the vehicles & on foot. These sections are not particularly competent compared to other first person shooters, but they do the job(just) but does add a bit of variety & addd to the story i feel & only features rarely in the story anyway.
I highly, highly recommend this game if your a fan of the original Carrier Command, or yearn for something deeper on console, & something you can sink your teeth into. Its actually one of my favorite games of all time. A vast improvement on a classic game.
