5.0 out of 5 stars Iain Banks' best 'culture' novel ever, 14 May 2008
This book is rich and immensely satisfying. It's like the perfect cup of coffee. If it was a song, it would be called Norwegian Wood. If it were a stranger it would be the most steamingly erotic person you can imagine seducing you. If it were a drink it would be called a pan-galactic gargle blaster. If it were a drug, it would illegal.

Read it before you die

5.0 out of 5 stars "The truth shall set you free but first it will piss you off", 13 Jan. 2008
Apollo Astronaut, Dr. Brian O'Leary quotes in his forward to Dr. Greer's book; "The truth shall set you free but first it will piss you off."

This book reveals Dr. Greer's dramatic life journey. It is his personal disclosure about the events which led him to set up CSETI and the famous UFO Disclosure Project meeting in Washington DC in 2001. His experiences are deeply moving. His testimony compelling. and his explainations enlightening.
In the last chapters he outlines a number of visions; various paths, one of which humanity will imminently have to choose as we transition to not merely a united and peaceful world community but a universal community. These visions of our imminent transition phase are frankly frightening. However, at all times set beyond the transition phase, is placed a model, both powerful and beautiful of the destiny which awaits mankind.

This book deals very much with spirituality and conciousness. It explains that the Sciences of very advanced extraterrestrial civilizations embrace conciousness as the very fabric of reality, and their knowledge of this enables them to represent themselves materially anywhere in the universe.

I recommend this book top anyone who is interested, not just in UFOs, but also in the nature of conciousness.
