3.0 out of 5 stars Works, but needs a bit of work., 6 Feb 2012

This lead is a very cheap alternative to an expensive MIDI interface, and would be ideal for someone who just wants to connect a single keyboard to their PC, for example.
Unfortunately, it doesn't quite qualify for "Plug & Play" status. I had bought it for a friend, who runs a VISTA PC. When the lead was plugged into the USB socket, an error report came up - "Can't start, your device has not been installed". A quick glance at the device manager showed the dreaded yellow triangle and exclamation mark.
A quick bit of internet searching revealed a source for a Generic Driver, and after an install, a restart, and a second install, everything fired up, and it is now working properly. A small inconvenience for a product at an extraordinary price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very pleasantly surprised at first, but that had to change., 27 Nov 2011

I did a lot of research before plumping for this Android tablet (The G7 III, not the StarPAD). I tried to achieve a happy balance between price and capability. This was the winner. It arrived within 2 working days, very nicely packaged, and with lots of useful goodies bundled in. (USB mini-USB stick adapter, in-car charger, mains charger and so on.) The instruction booklet is slim, but in fact contains all that you need to get up and running straight away. The screen quality is excellent, the touch-screen responsiveness is first rate (except while charging), and the supplied apps are well chosen. As the screen is glass, I would definitely recommend buying a case as well. I have downloaded several e-books, and am delighted with the reading software supplied. Wireless connectivity is better than my laptop or mobile phone. This product is so good that within a week I had ordered another one for my wife! Can't say better than that.
That was my first impression. I bought several of these tablets as presents, and recommended them to many other people, many of whom bought one. Then the faults began to show. One became unusable, but suddenly Cambridge Sciences seemed to vanish from the face of the earth. After a great deal of detective work I managed to trace a company called Cambridge Sciences that sold tablets, but claimed to be nothing to do with the G7. Eventually, after many phone calls and emails they agreed to repair the tablet under warranty. I had to jump through several more hoops, and finally the person who had been given this tablet as a present sent it off, registered post.
I explained that I had bought the item as a gift, and that all communication should be with the recipient, but that was ignored.
After a few days, the tablet was returned (to me, not the owner, of course), with a note stating that as it was broken (the reason for returning it!) the warranty was invalid, and they would have no more to do with it. This from a company that claimed not to be the original supplier, so what warranty?

Look elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I needed., 27 Nov 2011

This is a very nicely made product, sent extremely quickly at a fantastic price. The wrist rest is extremely comfortable, too. Unfortunately, the black surface doesn't seem to like my optical wireless mouse, so I use the rest on its own and the mouse on a different surface. If you have a non-optical (ball) mouse, this will be ideal.

4.0 out of 5 stars A blast from the past., 27 Nov 2011

There are several famous scenes in this reworking of the "Faust" story. It is a little dated, but it was made over 40 years ago! The trampolining nuns are still funny, and there are great performances by Pete and Dud AND Eleanor Bron.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is serious stuff., 27 Nov 2011

Obviously, it is a good idea to have "Flight Simulator X" installed on your computer before opening this book. That said, even if you don't have the software this book tells you a lot about flying a plane. Some of it was advanced enough to make my head spin, but everything is explained well, and I know that I will get there eventually.

Just about every Nilsson song that was a hit is on this CD. Hearing them again just shows why they were such smash hits. Buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made., 27 Nov 2011

This card reader is well made, and doesn't look as though it will have the problems reported about "bargain basement" similar items. It is much smaller than it seems to be from the photo, and has a strong chord loop attached to help prevent it being lost.

This is my third pill organiser, and it is the best by miles. I have to take a large number of pills at various times of day, and this organiser holds them all without spilling them in my pocket. It can be loaded up with a week's-worth at a time, which is useful when travelling. Well constructed, and worth paying that little bit extra for.

Nobody sang quite like Harry Nilsson, nobody writes like Randy Newman, and so of course nobody sings Randy Newman songs like Harry Nilsson. Buy this disk.
