5.0 out of 5 stars Nice no frills product., 5 Mar. 2015

Better than I expected. More robust and better looking than the pictures. Reassuringly heavy. I get up to 6 recharges of my Samsung Galaxy S3 out of it. Benefits from a 2A USB charger when recharging. Used in a Motorhome. Very good. Good Price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks good, competent in use, liking it., 5 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A couple of months on, we're liking the Russell Hobbs microwave after chronic problems with a couple of Panasonics over the past 4 years. The main thing we have found is that the power output remains consistent and doesn't fade (like the Panasonic did) with longer cycles. Slightly smaller inside, but it's not a tardis. Still takes a full sized dinner plate.

Looks good. I would drop the mirror door finish as it does impact being able to see inside. We like the slightly retro looking red LED display.

Easy to use controls.

4.0 out of 5 stars Competent keyboard, US layout., 5 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A competent keyboard, especially at the price, but be aware it is quite small and if you have big fingers you may struggle. Has options for Mac, PC and Android. I quickly got used to the mouse pad and controlling without the traditional buttons through the necessary taps and two finger taps.

A slight Achilles heel is that it is a US keyboard and so you have to set it as such within your device. This makes accessing the UK pound sign (£) problematical. The best way to do this is to set the keyboard as US International which makes the £ accessible with a three key press. Not ideal, but there you go. Dropped 1 star for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted, 5 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Much better than expected. Robust, has rubber inserts that give both padding and some grip for your tablet on the stand. Very good price. Very compact and lightweight. I concur with the other reviewers.

Nice looking 4" fan. Reasonably quiet. Better than the pictures. Easy to fit. Nothing fancy. Replaced a fan that had previously given 17 years faithful service. Appropriate for a small bathroom or shower room or toilet.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a central heating valve., 5 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ubiquitous central heating valve. The USP is the easily replaceable actuator unit. The main issue with these valves is that the microswitches fail after a few years use, sticking on, which will leave the pump and boiler running even when the valve is closed. The microswitches can be bought separately in a few places, including Amazon, however for a few pounds. Otherwise should give 20+ years service, at least my last one did. I've had two microswitches fail out of my four valves in 15 years.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flakey Smart TV functions plus Spy TV and Appalling Customer Support. Avoid., 5 Mar. 2015
Being a Smart TV you want to connect this to the Internet. All the while the TV is on it is then reporting back to LG what you are watching, including the file names of any USB or DLNA content. The Smart TV interface is also continually pushing advertisements at you. If you block these advertisements at your Internet Router, this causes the TV interface to hang for several minutes before giving up and then becoming active again. Doing this also causes the Android Smartphone app to fail to work.

On my set the Time Machine II (pause live TV and Freeview recording) was faulty with the picture and sound continually dropping out for several seconds. Video of my faults are on youtube. Search for "LG TV 42LN575V picture/sound cutting out". The HDMI ARC function was also not working and it will randomly reboot after accessing some of the Smart TV functions. I therefore returned the set to LG for repair. After having it for 3 weeks they simply returned it after doing nothing to it. They claimed it was a "signal related" problem. After sending very good signal strength figures from the set they had it back again. Second time they replaced the main board and left the insides rattling around, the Time Machine II was now missing from the interface altogether, and the internal wifi also now missing from the set rendering it useless for any Smart functions. It was clear they had no answer to the problems which are clearly endemic within the design of the set. They then refused to do any more and I had to demand a refund from the reseller I bought it from with the threat of legal action.

There are so many reports of faults with these sets, just search on Google. Video of the fault with my set can be seen by searching My advice, buy a Samsung. I've had my other Smart TV, a Samsung, for 3 years and it has always worked from day one without a hitch.

Poor quality set exacerbated by appalling customer support.
