The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry
"When Harold Fry leaves home one morning to post a letter, with his wife hoovering upstairs, he has no idea that he is about to walk from one end of the country to the other. He has no hiking boots (in fact, he is wearing yachting shoes)or map let alone a compass, waterproof or mobile phone(although he acquires these on route). All he knows is that he must keep walking, To save someone else's life".
My husband read this book first and thoroughly enjoyed it and I found it just as enticing finding it hard to put down. It seemed personal because it is written in an area where we live and travels through countryside to which we are accustomed therefore creating a familiar ring. Events happen frequently making it a good page turner. The complacency of a long marriage and Harold breaking through to do something totally unfamiliar so making this an unusual book and one that I will never forget.
