3.0 out of 5 stars Rowenta Air Force Fair, but not Good, 8 Oct 2010
Bought this to replace and aging GTech brush cleaner with battery problems. The design of the Air Force is excellent and the weight is not super light, but is certainly not heavy. Removing the bag for emptying is simplicity its-self and battery life is between 40 and 45 minutes depending how much you use the turbo brush mode. The medium sized triangle shaped head is excellent for corners and skirting, but does not work so well on wide stretches of floor surface and you need to do extra work to cover the distance. This is unfortunately the good points. When cleaning hard floors the Rowenta performs reasonably well, although struggles with larger items that the Gtech would have scoffed up with ease. Nevertheless 7 out of 10 for hard floors. On Carpets the picture is much worse. It struggles with hair, cottons and general carpet dirt. You will spend lots of valuable time on Carpets, to the point that you will probably revet to getting out your trusty old Vac. Strangely the Air Force works better on carpets with the Turbo Brush turned off. Not sure why, perhaps this feature takes power/suction from the vacuum side of the machine. Therefore 4 out of 10 for carpets. All in all a nice idea, but falls down in execution.

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Purchased this via Amazon this week and have been blown away by the ease of setup and quality of the picture. I bought this to replace an ageing Infocus X2 projector and the difference has been amazing. The Acer automatically detected that it was celling mounted and adjusted the display accordingly. I tested it in strong light, a real problem for the Infocus, but the picture quality was only marginally reduced, but still 100 percent better than the Infocus in subdued light. Just can't fault this for the price.

I'm sure that this is an excellent product, but the one I purchased, has never worked well. Keeps locking up every 15/20 minutes and then needs re-booting. Not a good experience and now occupies junk box spaced.

Hitachi LS-1000-EMEA 3.5-inch 1TB Simpledrive External USB Hard Drive
Hitachi LS-1000-EMEA 3.5-inch 1TB Simpledrive External USB Hard Drive

5.0 out of 5 stars Hitachi is plug and play, 31 Mar 2010
My 250MB External USB Seagate seeked its last a few weeks ago and reading the reviews the Hitachi 1TB drive seemed very good value for money. This drive is certainly plug and play and works without fault with my IMac's Time Machine software. The drive seems faster than my old Seagate and has the advantage of switching itself off when the IMac is powered down.

The only very minor negative is that when my IMac is carrying out its periodic Time Machine backup the drive is noticeably noisier than the IMac's drive and is much louder than the almost silent Seagate. However, this is a small price to pay for the undoubted benefits of this drive.
