5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece in surrealism., 16 May 2013

After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt the need to defend this film.
I saw a review which questioned the use of a tyre killing people with the power of its mind, as it was unrealistic, but I think that when someone creates a fundamentally surreal film about a homicidal tyre, you have to grant them a little bit of room to play outside of reality.
The important thing with this film is to not question it too much. Let it draw you in, feel for the tyre, and don't question what Dupieux does with the film. One of the key themes is that of 'no reason'. He has deliberately gone for a film which doesn't need explanation, so that anything could happen within it.
I think that the film is excellent, with some beautiful cinematography, an incredible soundtrack, and some very clever moments, and very funny moments.
It is presented in a novel way, and has some very weird parts, but I think that you have to get past that when you're watching a film about a killer tyre.

In summary, I would call this film artistic surrealism, and hopefully it'll become a cult classic. It's not for everyone, but if you like comedy, or even just film in general, and you want to see something different from every other film you own, this is well worth it.
I cannot wait for the release of Wrong, Dupieux's next film. I will be getting that as soon as it's available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought this for a friend, 8 Mar 2012

It was very well received. I added a few extras inside it, like minor inside jokes, and a page of ginger-based puzzles, and it was all quite fun. So good for a laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most hilarious stand up you'll ever see., 19 Feb 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'd seen a few clips of his stand up before I bought this dvd, and so I was expecting great things. I was not even slightly disappointed. It was totally hilarious. I genuinely didn't stop laughing. It actually hurt by the end, and I guarantee that you will laugh, too. I've watched it a few times now, and it still hasn't lost anything. I showed it to my entire group of friends, and to my brother, and they all found it as funny as I did.
This is really a brilliant show, and you'll be so glad that you bought it. There is not a bad thing I can say about this show - it's just non-stop laughs. Perfect.

I really like dance music, and so I decided to get this EP. But I do quite regret getting it; I knew the song already, but it actually isn't that great anymore. I listened to it a couple of times, but now I'm fairly uninterested in it. So, only get this if you actually are sure that you want it, otherwise you could be wasting your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant story, outstanding cast., 28 Dec 2011

This review is from: Mad Dogs - Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
I loved Mad Dogs. To be honest, I originally bought it purely because of the cast. Simm, Glenister, Warren and Beesley are four of Britain's finest for drama, and they certainly live up to their own standards in this show.
It's an intriguing and gripping story, which I thought was brilliant.
It does only have four episodes, but each is an hour long, so I didn't feel that I was getting any less from this series.
When you watch it, the first episode is really just setting the scene, introducing the characters, laying down a few hints and pointers, and then full kicking the plot off at the end, and it keeps going at a good pace after that, without feeling like there is too much going on to keep track of.
It is a brilliant series, one of the best dramas I've seen in a while, and I would fully recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best sketch shows ever., 16 Oct 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I absolutely loved Big Train. It's hit and miss really, as every sketch show is, but in this one, the hits are much more common than the misses. Also, there are some which were huge hits for me, such as the Tom Henderson sketch and the fire0fighting jockeys (which can be found on youtube). I am usually put off from buying DVDs of sketch shows, as they do not usually have a lasting appeal, but this one really does.
The show has a lot of fairly surreal sketches, which not everyone will appreciate really. However, even if you do not like these sketches, many of the sketches in series 2 are generally less surreal, so this could still appeal to you.
But, to put it basically, if you like a lot of the other shows which have similar casting (particularly Mark Heap, Kevin Eldon and Simon Pegg), then you will almost definitely like this.
Certainly worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A spectacular live dance album., 25 Sep 2011

There is not really much I can say about this which you won't already know already. If you liked Justice's album, then you will definitely like the live album.
Often, live albums don't seem worth it when you have all of the songs anyway. However, as with many dance live albums, this one is absolutely worth it, as it has small variations on the songs, and has them mixed together in a way which makes it a very exciting album to listen to. There are one or two songs which do not appear anywhere else, such as a cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets, and overall it leads to an exceptional CD.
Definitely worth it if you are a fan of Justice, or even just artists similar to Justice.
