Good little 'confidence building in a nutshell' is my way of summarising this small pocket book.

'Handling Fear'...Some meaningful advice here, such as: Action makes the fear go away and many other tips.

'Speak Confidently' is another useful chapter in this handy book of confidence building advice.

There is much to like about this little book, covering topics as above plus 'asserting yourself, relationships, making decisions et al.

You've nothing to lose by buying this book and possibly much to gain.

5.0 out of 5 stars BALLROOM DANCE TRIPLE CD, 20 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a complilation of big band dance music, perfect for anybody who loves music to dance to. Whether it be quickstep, waltz, foxtrot etc., the tempo of each track is spot on. Billy May and his orchestra is well represented and his orchestrations on this disk will delight any ballroom fan.

Although most dancers will automatically know what type of dance each track is, every track is shown as a waltz, foxtrot etc on the listing. The Best of Ballroom Dancing

5.0 out of 5 stars PUSH-BUTTON CORD FREE LIGHTWEIGHT MOWER, 30 April 2010
I bought one of these Bosch ROTAK 43 LI cordless mowers over two years ago when my petrol mower's deck broke. What a great new mower this Bosch proved to be!

Two batteries mean I can cope with my rather large grass areas quite easily. Push the start button and away you go. No tugging at starter cords, no petrol to store, no noisy engine deafening the neighbours.

This system will suit almost everybody with the average-plus lawn. Even though the wheels are not powered, as some petrol machines are, this Bosch Rotak is much lighter so easy to push and easy to lift.

Well worth the extra price (compared to some cheaper petrol mowers) and should last many years with no hassle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and Efficient Floor Sweeper - Rechargeable too!, 4 April 2010

I much prefer this sweeper to the heavy vacuum cleaner! This G-tech sweeper does an amazingly good job; picks up anything with ease.

Easy to empty; no dustbags to bother with. Side brushes gather up dust and stuff right up to the edge, no problem.

And it is so LIGHT and easy to use. My vacuum cleaner is virtually redundant now.

Buy one. You'll love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Handy, Efficient Vacuum, 4 April 2010

Excellent product. Great for those small, but difficult jobs - such as in the car or on the settee etc.

Light and easy to use. One niggle: lengthy charging time. Ideally it would have a Li-on type of battery which recharges in about an hour. Still, this hand-held vacuum is probably the best in its class.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright Lights are Back Again!, 24 Jan. 2010

What a huge relief to get instant, clean white light again.

No longer waiting for the bulb to gather strength and give out a rather jaundiced glow. This bulb is fantastic in that it brightens the whole room immediately. Worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absorbing Journal - A true page turner, 24 Jan. 2010

This book is like reliving some of my days as a ten year old schoolboy, when the war was over but living was still as hard and austere as ever.

These diaries are like nothing else you'll ever read. They are all so honest; so easy to agree with in many way; so evocative if you are of that era.

Even if you are too young to know anything about those harsh times I'm sure you will still love this book. You will be amazed at how we lived then when compared to present times. The 'good old days' could be 'the good old bad old days'. But those days were REAL and this collection of diaries tells of things as the man and woman in the street saw them.

I'd give it ten stars, but not allowed to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Windows 7 is a breeze to instal and runs perfectly, 21 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have an Asus laptop with just 2 meg RAM and Vista home premium before loading Win 7.

Hard drive is partitioned into C:drive for OS and programs; D:drive is for data. This was pre-formatted.

Loading Win 7 I was warned that my C:drive was not big enough to run the installation and the suggestion was to free up some disk space. I didn't do that; just carried on with the instal. It ran smoothly, with no queries or questions and it took 90 minutes. I was expecting it to take at least twice as long! Well pleased with the way it went.

This was all done about ten days ago and everything runs perfectly. No hiccups with my old software, which remained intact during the upgrade. Booting up is faster and shutting down much quicker too. Vista used to hang when shutting down, making a 'forced' shutdown the only option at times.

The best improvement, for me, is the way my picture and music libraries are presented. I can find things much more easily now. I am satisfied, but I wish Microsoft had got it right with Vista in the first place!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hi De Hi - You Lucky Campers!, 15 Nov. 2009
This has got to be one of THE best sitcoms ever. It mirrors the holiday camp life of the middle of the 20th century and doesn't miss a trick.

Ted Bovis, the scheming camp compere/comic; Gladys Pugh, the chief yellow-coat in love with the camp manager; Peggy, the chalet-maid with her dreams of becoming a yellow-coat and all the supporting actors make this a really super laugh-out-loud series.

I love it! So will you. Hi de Hiiiii - Ho de Hoh... Ted can't hear you! HI DE HI.Hi-De-Hi! - Series 8 & 9 [1986] [DVD]

5.0 out of 5 stars Great history in photos of the 950s, 14 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A well produced collection of professionally taken photos of people and places in the 1950s.

Royalty, celebrities (of course), places and ordinary people appear on the 299 pages of this fairly hefty book. At Amazon's price it is a 'steal' and thoroughly recommended - especially if you lived during those years as I did.

The vast majority of photos (one on each page, with short text) are in black and white; one would expect this of course as colour photography for newspapers etc was rare. There are one or two colour plates but in my view the black and white photos are just perfect.

Nice piece of nostalgia at a good price.
