5.0 out of 5 stars the best tiger ever..., 29 Oct. 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
i really thought carefully about this game before the purchase. i'd played other tiger games on the xbox and had tried tiger 07 on the wii which i didn't like. This was mainly due to the fact that i'd This happened often and was so annoying that i gave back the copy i'd borrowed and never bought the game myself.

Instead i bought pangya golf which started ok, but within a few hours i found the learning curve unbelieveably steep and the opponents regularly sinking 30 foot puts to beat me. I sold it on ebay.

Then tiger 08 comes out and has some good reviews. Keen to get a new golf game i purchase and find it's brill. Yes the swing needs some getting used to and sometimes it doesn't seem to register your shot correctly but mostly it works well (much better than 07!!). I find if i keep my hands straighter than i normally would, and swing in an exagerated fashion the wiimote registers my shot correctly most of the time.

I've started working through the tiger challenge mode, which is big, and i'm enjoying myself loads. i don't win every challenge first time, but the variety of types of games keeps things interesting.

The multiplayer mini games look excellent although i've not tried many myself.

One annoying fact is that you can't save a round half way through. You can skip most of the cpu's shot but a round can still take up to 45 mins and so a midgame save would have been good. EDIT EDIT - has stated by the reviewer who placed the comment below (click on 'comment') you can save half way round. oops!

overall - I was hesitant before purchasing but now i'd recommend it strongly.

This review is from: Relentless (Mass Market Paperback)
i really enjoyed this novel and will watch out for the authors next when it is released in paperback.

There are moments in the novel which are a unbelievable but for me they didn't spoil the story and some of the twists were breathtaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant little tool, 5 Oct. 2007
Since buying this for myself, my father and brother in law have also bought on for themselves once they had seen how good this is.

Nice and compact fit in the hand with the comfort to be able to use it for a long time. I rarely use another screw driver now. The charger is excellent and it charges from flat very quickly

As there is a lithium battery in it it has 'no memory' and so can be recharged when it has had any amount of use from just a few screws to a full days use.

Yes, the direction changing button is easy to catch, which is a slight negative, but this is still head and shoulders above any screwdriver, or indeed any tool i've ever used.

Absolutely essential for DIY.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great game, 25 Sept. 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

i thought long and hard about whether to buy this game but eventually i decided to give it a go and i'm glad i did. It's a realistic golf game in a cartoony dress. The actual golf swing and the way the ball travels is reaslitic with the exception of the rolling in the rough.

i did try tiger woods 07 before i bought this but found that i would swing back and tiger would have already taken the shot before the i did the proper swing. I found this so off putting.

There are about 10 courses in this game and most need to be unlocked by playing through the single player game. there are upgrades to your character (new clubs and clothes) but i myself am not too interested in them.

My one criticism is that you can't save a round halfway through and so a 18 hole match can take an hour or so of your time with no chance of a midsession save.

Overall though, a great game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 22 Aug. 2007

i read the kite runner and thought it was brilliant. but for me most new author's second novels are disappoining and so at first i didn't read this book.

But having seen the reviews on Amazon i thought i'd read it an di'm glad i did.

I've been reading fiction (as an adult) for more than 15 years and this is only the 3rd book to make me cry (kite runner was one of the others). Although i don't think it's as good as the kite runner i do think it is very good and i can't wait for this authors next book.

Soooooo much better than the original monopoly. this game is just dice rolling but there is strategy and, of course, risk as well. I enjoy playing it with my 7 year old son. Good for maths as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars in my opinion, much better than the northern lights., 29 Jun. 2007

I nearly gave up on this trilogy having read the first book. However a friend recommended the subtle knife highly, and i'm glad i read it as it was much better than the northern lights.

i also highly enjoyed the 3rd book as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Films simply do not come any better..., 9 May 2007
I will never forget the first time i saw Shawshank. It had been nominated for about 6 oscars and so i trot along to the cinema to watch this prison drama.

As others have said the is a simply fantastic film and the type of film that comes along 2 or 3 times in a lifetime if you are lucky

I won't go into the story as others have written about it, but will say that you owe it to yourself to watch this film. Raed the reviews on amazon and count the number of positive and count the number of negative. Then decide if it is worth seeing.

I promise you this - it's a film you will NEVER forget...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games i've ever played, 1 May 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Having been a gamer from the ZX spectrum in the early 1980s i've good few games to compare it to and i think that god of war is one of the best games ever. For the last 5 years i've had a xbox but since there are no new games for it now, i thought i'd get a secondhand ps2 and go through it's back catalogue. One of the most highly rated games was GOW and so i bought it. Good move.

As far a gameplay is concerned few achieve better.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding and very moving, 11 April 2007

This review is from: The Kite Runner (Paperback)
I picked this up in a bookshop and wondered what it would be like. Well it's fabulous. It made me really think, cry a few times and want toread it when i wasn't. The ending was a little disappointing but overall this is an amazing book and i wait to read others by the same author.

Highly recommended.

UPDATE - it's now a good few months since i read the kite runner and although i've read many more novels, all have been inferior to this book. If you are unsure, please give it a go. Look how many good reviews on Amazon it has. It's a book that really could change your life.
