5.0 out of 5 stars Words cannot describe the awesomeness..., 12 April 2007
...seriously, they can't! It's truly amazing!

I have had the game for 2 days now, and have barely stopped to breathe due to it's addictiveness. If you buy this game you will be playing it for an unbelievable amount of time, you just cannot help yourself!

Before i bought this game, i had never played any previous versions of Guitar Hero and was at first a little cautious about whether or not i should venture into the world of rhythmic music games... but I tell you now, i have not been more pleased with a purchase for a very long time.

"£65!" you're probably thinking, as i did, but once you've got the guitar in you hands, you've put the game in your 360 and you're up and running, you will realise that you have made the right decision, because this game is easily the best game i have played yet in terms of pure fun, the wide range of skill levels available, and the abilty to just pick up and play the game.

You dont have to worry about trying to remember where your charcter was the last time you saved your game, or other annoyances that you might come across were you to pick up an old RPG you havn't played in a while. With Guitar Hero II you just pickup and play. It couldnt be simpler.

Not only this, but the song list you have at your finger tips is great! With a wide range of styles and a briliant fusion of new tracks (DEAD!- My Chemical Romance) and old classics (Sweet Child O' Mine- Guns n' Roses)

you will be sure to find something you will love.

So to conclude, yeah, you could spend a lot less on some other 360 game. And yeah it might provide you witha small amount of entertainment. But will it compare to Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360? No... no i don't think it will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly incredulous..., 1 Sept. 2006
I am speechless. I recieved this game through Amazon about 3 days ago. Since then i have been struggling to retain my social life! This game is just awe-inspiringly, jaw-droppingly amazing. In my opinion, this is the only RPG released which can even attempt to steal the title of "Worlds greatest Role-Playing game" from the almighty Knights of the Old Republic 1.

The visuals in the game are just astounding. The graphics are brilliant for a game which has a total available area to explore of 16 x 16 miles. If your not quite sure what this game is all about, think of it as a cross between Lord of the Rings and Grand Theft Auto. But a lot more complicated and with a much larger emphasis on magical abilities.

Put simply, you are a former prisoner who has been entrusted with a task by the Emperor. That task is to "...close shut the jaws of Oblivion", which is a demonic dimension. The problem is your new enemy has found a way of creating gateways from this hellish dimension to yours and are unleashing hell upon the many cities and towns within Cyrodiil, the capital province of Tamriel (the world in which this whole kerfuffle takes place).

That's all i'm going to say so that i don't spoil any part of the plot, but this game will take over a 100 hours in order to achieve 100% completion of the game if not 200 hours.

With so many side quests, places to explore and factions to enter, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be remembered for many, many years to come.

Do you like freedom? Do you like Fantasy? And do you like a gripping plot?

Oh, you do? Well then, in that case, why are you reading this review and not busy buying this truly magnificent piece of gaming genius?

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure, ergonomic genius!, 14 Jun. 2006
This by far the greatest contoller created on any console. I personally found the Gamecube controller to be in a class of it's own when i first used it, but this just completely demolishes it!

It fits into your hand perfectly, looks sophisticated, and the buttons and analog sticks are layed out absolutely perfectly. You won't get any aches in your hands or fingers after playing your favourite 360 title with this controller.

The fact that it is wireless just adds to it's class! No cluter, no tangled wires, just great comfort and control.

It is obvious when you use it that Microsoft thought long and hard about it's shape and design, and have definately succeeded in creating a controller to be matched by Sony's PS3; and from the news and pics thsat i have seen, it is the same shape and design as the PS2 controller, showing that Sony have finally shown the world that they have no imagination and creativity whatsoever.

Sony ranting over with, you have to buy an Xbox 360 (if you don't already have one), and could buy it purely based on this controller which has pushed the level of comfort and control you expect to find with a controller up to a completely new league.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Game that the DS was designed for, surely!, 4 Jun. 2006
Ever since i recieved my Nintendo DS and the demo of this game that came with it, i had been eagerly anticipating the game's release. And i wasn't disapointed when i finally got it a few weeksx ago. You havn't experienced the true potential of the Nintendo DS until you've played this game, or better still, own it!

The game has gone beyond my original expectations of what it would be like, with exceptional graphics (undoubtedly the best on the DS so far), gameplay, controls and audio.

Graphics: I expected the game to have good graphics for a portable console but these just blew me away when i first slotted it into the back of DS. OK so they aren't as good as the PSP's (at least i think that's what that awful handheld is called!) but they are pretty close in my opinion. 10/10

Audio: It's no good having a game with fantastic visuals if the audio is abismal, But Metroid doesn't fail to impress in the category either. The sound effects are great and the music matches the setting exceptionally. If you are walking down a long corridor the music just adds to the suspense of what might be at the other end. You might not find better sound on a portable console game. 9/10

Controls: I almost convinced myself that Nintendo must have made this game and then thought about how they could make a console that would be perfect for playing it on. You won't another DS game with controls that are in the same league as this, they truly are a treat to use. You use the stylus on the touch screen to look around (the best method of controling an FPS since the keyboard and mouse), the D-pad for movement and the L/R button to fire your weapon. Pure Genius. Enough said.

10/10

Online: Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on this game is an absolute legend! There is no lag whatsoever and the game just has a whole new element of fun and tension when you realise that you're playing against another person somewhere, you just feel that you have to try that little bit harder in order to get revenge on someone who just fried you with a Shock Coil or blew you apart with a rocket launcher. Great fun! 9/10

Overall: You would be a fool to buy a Nintendo DS and then not buy this game, the two things simply don't go together. If you want the most exciting, fun, original experience on the move, then here it is. Because i'm telling you now, unless there's a sequel this is will be the only game that you will ever play on your DS apart from Mario Kart.

Treat yourself, buy it now!

2.0 out of 5 stars If only this was the same as the home console versions..., 5 May 2006
A big disappointement. We could have been onto a winner here if only this game were as good as the other version released on the other consoles.

Instead we get another sidescroller! Surely the Gameboy Advance was the era of sidescrollers? Surely, as a next generation console, the DS should have put games of this calibre behind it?

Thre graphics are mediocre (you are not able to expierience the full potential of what they could be like because you only move from side to side).

The sound is not quite extremely bad, but the controls are too out of date. You may as well be playing a 2D Gameboy game because you will only get the same overall experience. The tough screen is barely utilized at all as well as the microphone!

Please do yourself a favourn and stay clear of this game on the DS. However, if you want an incredibly good Spiderman game make sure you buy this game for the Gamecube/PS2/Xbox. You wont be disappointed!
