Quiet Beautiful and utterly utterly wonderful debut, 29 Jan. 2001
This is simplicity distilled, 100% proof; two guys, two guitars, a few hazy strings, or spiralling drum loops and some beautifully heady melodies. Its quiet intoxication is the perfect remedy to the self-aggrandising noisemaking and cheesy pap that dominates the charts, as its whispering intensity sneaks into your soul. No screaming, no swearing, no sponsorship, no nu-metal attitudes, and definitely no manufacturing, there is more emotion in the silences of this record than in Fred Durst's loudest, most outrageous, crowd-pumping, rants.
