1.0 out of 5 stars Cartridge Rip-Off, 19 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I want to print, but my printer has just decided that the black print cartridge is out. It has totally disabled printing until I replace the cartridge and there is no override. Since I has just managed to print half a document with no signs of fading or lines in the black I am willing to bet that it could manage the second half to a readable quality. However Epson have decided that this is not a decision that I, as the owner of the printer, should be allowed to make. I am now being forced to pay for new cartridges when Epsom decides!

The scanner isn't all that great either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits well with old bulbs, 23 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These bulbs make a great replacement for older MR16 spotlights. They aren't quite as decorative as some of the older ones in that they don't throw out any coloured light to the side, but the actual bulb looks very similar and hence doesn't stand out as an odd replacement. The light is brighter and (if you get the daylight ones) whiter than old bulbs, but to me that is an advantage.

They also use less power and produce less heat.

This is a great game. Just enough thought to be interesting and plenty of action to keep you awake. I would say it's great for anyone from about 8 years up. It's basically group snap that's been specifically designed to mess with your head, but instead of just shouting you have to grab the token, which adds an interesting physical element. I would definitely recommend this as a family game.

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm returning it, 13 Feb. 2015

The tape player turns too slowly making music almost unrecognisable. The Audacity software is good - but not good enough to correct the terrible playback from the hardware.

The Martian

5.0 out of 5 stars A grippig story - and very plausible, 11 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Martian (MP3 CD)
This is a great story, particularly for those interested in space and technology, but there is also human interest. A little suspension of disbelief is needed but the author has clearly gone to great lengths to make this as scientifically plausible and technologically current, and on the whole it is very believable. That realism leaves you wondering whether the protagonist will survive right until the final chapter - there is clearly not going to be any magical rescue.

Think of a Number (Big Questions)
Think of a Number (Big Questions)
by Johnny Ball
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 1 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a genuinely entertaining tour through what could easily become a very dry subject. It builds up and covers some fairly advanced subjects towards the end. But it does so without a lot of complex notation and in a way that is intuitive; trying to build a feel for numbers rather than an ability to calculate. In places it's very funny.

I wish I'd had this book as a child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin :-), 1 Nov. 2013

This is a great book containing real scientific data on the physical and social effects of drugs, in the real world. It's very understandable and easy to read, without shying away from the science. Most importantly, it's book about the real world, where some people do take drugs (some even enjoy it!) and policies that rely on stopping all drug use (except alcohol and tobacco, which somehow don't count), simply aren't going to fly.

Anybody involved in drugs policy should read this book to get some proper evidence on which to base their opinions. Anyone taking (or considering taking) any kind of drug (that included alcohol and tobacco) should read this book to get an idea of the relative risks of different drugs.
