Very enjoyable read, but seems to lack the depth of say the biography by WL Warren. Anyone else have the notes for the Conclusion chapter missing from their copy?

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment, 11 July 2009
The first four episodes are brilliant. Ok, the storyline is not the most original, but the pacing and acting are brilliant. The last episode, however, is a complete disappointment. Far too much emphasis on the government being evil, far too little on how to escape the main problem. Jack's reactions and eventual actions are totally out of character. What a waste of such a build-up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, 21 April 2008
A fascinating overview of the importance of mitochondria, with some speculation clearly explained. It's a complicated subject, but extremely well written. Overpriced? hardly. Not sure what the previous reviewer thought the pictures could be of, anyway...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and better, 2 Mar. 2008
The more I read them, the better they seem. Some are merely good; others are brilliant. Should be better known over here.

5.0 out of 5 stars interesting, 13 Feb. 2008
This book is presumably aimed mostly at an academic market, but the casual reader should not be put off by that. It's very readable and an interesting insight into how poetry is put together and how all the various aspects (words, syntax, rhythm etc) work together. Highly recommended for anyone interested in why good poems are good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well-designed kit shows how basic machines work, 18 Aug. 2001
As well as a kit to build 50 working models illustrating simple machines, this box set contains a short book clearly explaining how such machines as levers, gears and pulleys work. Unlike some kits of this sort, the instructions are clear and the parts actually fit together and work! Comes with a PC disc of Pinball Science which allows the building of 3 pinball games after answering science quizzes. My only complaint is that if you are not too good at pinball you get stuck on the second pinball machine and can't access the third! Highly recommend the kit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very pleasant surprise, 9 Nov. 1999
Fascinating storyline, interesting characters and a new slant on cyberpunk. A very interesting first novel and I will certainly look for more from this author.
