5.0 out of 5 stars A True Animé Classic, 29 Dec 2002
This review is from: Metropolis [DVD] (DVD)
Based on Osamu Tezuka's 1949 animé of the same name, Metropolis uses old style animation with lush CG backgrounds and a thrilling and moving story to create a classic Animé. Based around Kenichi, the nephew of a Japanese Private Investigater, and Tima the Humanoid super robot who has no idea who she is, in a great tri-levelled city where Robots have become the working class and poor humans can't get jobs. The Leader of the city, Duke Red, is trying to make a super weapon which will allow him to take over the world, and needs Tima, whom he got made based on his deceased daughter, to be part of the weapon. It is a moving and sad story as well as a fast paced actiont hriller. Buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Diddley - Dee , but still grear, 1 Aug 2002
This review is from: Final Fantasy 4 (Audio CD)
Even before Final Fantasy players where hearing great orchestrated scores and themes that where fit to be in movies , they were so good, Nobuo uematsu was bringing us great music, but it is more diddley dee. Flute and violen, but they make a great combination, and Celtic Moon and Enay are among the best songs of Final Fantasy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bodyjar_good band, 31 July 2002
This review is from: Rim Shot (Audio CD)
But this album isn't as good as they're newer songs. "Not the Same" is their best song, but in '96 they weren't as good. If you have heard BodyJar through tony hawks, get one of their later albums, but if you're interested in some of Bodyjars earlier sogns, get this

4.0 out of 5 stars Nobuo Uematsu , does his work ever fail?, 29 July 2002
As always, Uematsu delviers, showing some of his best work from the final fantasy series, surely the bechmark for videogames music. All the songs are good, but some may not be to some tastes, While uematsu is capable of excellent themes (liberi fatalli, for example) some aren't just as good. I would recommend this to fans of the FF series music, but if you haven't heard them, stay well away...

4.0 out of 5 stars Nobuo Uematsu - Greatest games composer?, 19 July 2002
This review is from: Final Fantasy 9 (Audio CD)
Most games have average music, most using pop or rock songs form the charts. But each of the final fantasy series has a beautifully composed orchestrated soundtrack fit for a king courtesy of Nobuo Uematsu. Although rather on the expensive side,
this 4 cd set will be worth it, if you are a fan of this particular game. Personally, i think the music form FF8 is better than 9, but some of the tracks are excellent, such as "The Dark Messenger" and "Kuja's Theme" and "Black Mage Village"
If you are a collector of the soundtracks , love the music, and are loaded, then purchase this item!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great continuation of the series started by r.a. salvatore, 17 July 2002
This book is an excellent sequel to vector prime, in which alien invaders from an unknown, and previously unreachable galaxy, are trying to conquer the star wars gAlaxy. We discover that the original invaders were simply on a scouting mission for the real yuuzhan vong, and that this particular onslaught is still yet training for the Vong.
I would recommend this book to any star wars fan with a rough history of the expanded universe ( the continuation of the trilogy) , BUT ONLY IF THEY'VE READ VECTOR PRIME.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Fitting Themes, works well with the motion picture, 15 Jun 2002
Howard Shores soundtrack, is perfectly fitted for the movie, as well as the enya tracks. The music is dark, but one or two are cheery, and the ending theme, which continues with may it be at the end, is one of the best tracks in 2001.
