5.0 out of 5 stars Quality at a Good Price!, 16 Nov. 2008
Not sure what people are moaning about on the DVD front I have upscaled Cars and The Matrix since buying this ten days ago and they have both been excellent quality.

The player it's self is very compact and neat looking, it loads blu-ray discs quicker than past players but still not DVD speeds yet, but getting closer.

Have updated the firmware via USB to the latest one from the Samsung website, not had any major problems, but you can revert back, so long as you have the old firmware to go back to.

The two free titles come in the box so you can be up and running, watching glorious 1080P in seconds thanks to HDMI.

The set up is very simple and only has a few options as you would expect on an entry level player, the ablity to re-encode HD soundtracks into standard DTS for those without a HDMI reciever is very useful indeed.

Top marks both to Samsung and Amazon, glad I got this when it was only £162.00, bargain of the year. I really can't recommend this enough.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sound formats not all there, 14 Nov. 2008
This is a brilliant, funny special from Christmas 2007, my player states it is 1080P but I can't find the DTS-HD sound only standard DD5.1, also had some playback issues on the Samsung BD-P1500, it would freeze my player after the Universal logo.

Managed to get round this by pressing stop twice and then disc menu, I had the same problem on two discs.

5/5 for the comedy, 3/5 for the disc it's self the cover doesn't appear to be telling the truth.
