5.0 out of 5 stars A thoughtful ending..., 28 Dec 2013
Let's face it, ending this final season was never going to be easy and was never going to make everyone happy - but personally I think think they did a great job given the difficulty of the task. Dexter was always thoughtful rather than Big Bang stuff and such is also the way it ends. Personally I enjoyed the season and think the ending was pretty emotional - good on the producers for taking the brave choice that fits the series rather than an easy option.

Vulkan Lives (The Horus Heresy)
Vulkan Lives (The Horus Heresy)

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome... but probably not for everyone...., 21 Nov 2013
I would guess this book is going to split opinion. For those who are looking for significant progress in the Heresy storyline and who didn't like books like Betrayer for that reason, you're probably not going to like this book. In the greater storyline there is no advancement here at all - nothing. The majority of the story takes place in a cell.

If on the other hand like me, you are relishing the parts of the Heresy that you've always wondered about and want a light shined into those dark areas, you're going to love this. There are many holes in the current storyline for the Heresy and this gives light to some major ones. What happened to Vulkan after the events on Istvaan? Why exactly does Conrad Cruze let that assassin walk in and just take him out later in the storyline?

There is also a deepening of the underlying story going on in the background of the Heresy - John Grammaticus is back and working on behalf of the mysterious Cabal. Some real twists on that front and this is obviously part of a build to a longer term big reveal!

Finally we have the biggest potential issue of all... Vulkan Lives...

***Spoiler Alert***

..... and Vulkan is a perpetual just as John Grammaticus is - every time Cruze kills him he is reborn. So if he is reborn anew when he dies and the Emperor is also a perpetual then all of a sudden the whole 40k story takes a huge turn. The whole Imperium of Man revolves around keeping the Emperor clinging to semi life on the golden throne. But if they just let him die... wow. Do we have an alternative story advancement theory here to the Emperor being reborn in the warp as a god I wonder. Guess we may find out sometime in a few decades or so if GW ever move forward from 40k :)

Price: 3.59

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 11 Nov 2013
Lovely colourful glossy pictures, the main characters are laid out in a special pre story page which really helps and then at the end there are comprehension questions which are also great.

Great early reader book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album in years..., 11 Nov 2013
Total return to form for Eminem in this album, really catchy, well thought out and fun tunes that take you back to when he was at his peak. I think I've listened to this album 10 times through since I got it a few days ago and I can't remember the last time I did that.

5.0 out of 5 stars 600 Disney Movie Reward Points..., 7 Nov 2013
Movies are great as other reviews testify. But worth noting that this boxed set contains a whopping 600 Disney Movie Reward points. So that is enough to get a free DVD or for another 100 points a Blu Ray. So I actually bought this boxed set because I wanted another Disney movie, I then ordered that movie for free using the points, effectively meaning that this boxed set only ended up costing around 5.

Ahriman: Exile (Warhammer 40000)
Ahriman: Exile (Warhammer 40000)

4.0 out of 5 stars Ahriman rediscovered..., 6 Nov 2013

Character development was everything in this book for me. I'd never really thought that deeply about Ahriman before, he's always been represented as a pretty flat character driven on his relentless quest to gather artefacts for his grand plan. But John totally changed that for me and I'll never think of the character in the same way again. Instead we get the Ahriman who is wracked by guilt about what he did to his chapter, who still doesn't even understand why the Emperor turned on them. He's filled with remorse, blocking the world away and living a life in hiding. But the Thousand Sons haven't forgotten about Ahriman, the traitor, the destroyer who they want to hunt down. Looking forward to the next instalment!

The Death of Antagonis (Space Marine Battles)

3.0 out of 5 stars Great start.... weird end..., 18 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'd say this book splits into two halves. First half is excellent - the Black Dragons get summoned to Antagonis, a planet seemingly taken over by the undead but all is not as it seems. As the story plays out a tense standoff develops as it becomes clear that the chapter is under investigation by the Inquisition and it becomes a game of politics. This section of the book is great. The second half though I thought was disappointing. It's not massively clear why some of the characters behave as they do and the whole thing loses it's way and if anything just becomes a bit weird.

5.0 out of 5 stars 500 Disney Movie Reward Points, 17 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great movies but just wanted to add that this box set comes with a code for 500 movie reward points. So that is enough to buy most Disney DVD's or you need a few more to get a Blu Ray. So effectively when you buy this boxed set, not only do you get the 5 movies but you also get a free other Disney movie as a reward if you sign up online. Total bargain!

3.0 out of 5 stars Its OK..., 13 Oct 2013
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this as I remember playing on the PC years ago and thinking it was awesome. It's a good game but to be fair gets pretty repetitive after a while on the XBox. It's also a bit of a struggle to see things I find despite switching the brightness up on the TV. Whereas on the PC you're a lot closer to the screen on the XBox you're further away and ultimately the whole game is you running around in low light. Its also a lot tougher on the XBox as on the PC you're using a mouse so can pinpoint enemies very rapidly - the XBox controller system works well but because you are literally swamped with enemies it's not as effective as the point and click on the mouse, so you can get caught out more easily.
