5.0 out of 5 stars Bolan ... Genius.... nuff said, 29 Oct 2005
bolan the wizard. who ever coined that frase was bang on the money. where do you start with a true wordsmith. I can only think of two guys that can put words together and instantly have a hit=lennon and Dylan. obviously Bolan never broke the states, who cares. Who started this obsession with uncle Sam anyway. All the real and important poets come from our septic isle. London has a rich history forget the blitz, what about our music. we influence not only the rest of britian but the whole world. anyway lets talk about a forgotten masterpiece=electric warrior ! my personal favourite Planet queen, its subtle but hits you like an intercity[jou have to be older than thirty to get that reference].Then you have the sublime 'get it on'.Who can forget lifes a gas. These words and and lyrics do not come frome mere mortals like me and you, they are torn from the very souls of our heroes. Bolan the musical genuis was never fully appreciated in the heyday of british rock. it took his untimely death to make a nation wake up to one of our own pure poets. long live the words of the Wizzard .

5.0 out of 5 stars Well ARD Weller !, 29 Oct 2005

now we're with the big boys. the modfather is one of our greatest singer songwriters. lennon/mcartney,townsend, ray davies, ian dury, elvis costello, page n plant, bowie and even Bolan. Mr weller is there with all our greats. forget commercial success. listen to the music, top of the pops are fake ,the top 40 does not matter. weller saw a vision,a land of songs for the massis.what ever encarnation you prefer. An angry adolesent, soul boy or cool elder statesman of cool britania. i first heard the mod father when i was a teenager with no direction. its corny but after listening to snap i had a direction. politics.anway less of my left wing stroke marxist views. lets talk about the best album to come out of the ninties. by stanley road he was already a multy millionair, but you would never have guessed. he still had the common touch. enjoy the music of a modern genius !!

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT... but not quite the best., 14 Oct 2005
This review is from: Marchin' Already (Audio CD)
Well this album is from the OCS peak era (having said that flying squad is fantastic)and i reckon is probably there second best album after Moseley Shoals. With a good range of tracks including the amazing Hundred Mile High City, Better Day, Travellers Tune, Get Blown Away and It's A Beautiful Thing, this album really works. For me the stand out track Debris Road makes it only a whisker away fom Moseley and quite frankly if you don't own this album shame on you. Buy it, Best band of the 90's come on down !!
