5.0 out of 5 stars It is excellent in it's presentation and detail, 11 Aug 2014

This review is from: Yoga for Cyclists (Paperback)
Yoga for cyclists is a practical, functional resource aimed at improving performance through stretching, strengthening postures, breath control and recovery techniques. It is excellent in it's presentation and detail. Quotations from well known cyclists are used throughout although I do think a quote from the great Jan Voigt should have been included in the Mental training chapter. As a more mature cyclist I found the information on synchronised breathing rhythm and pedal cadence useful especially when applied to hills. And as most of us know the older we get so the more important it becomes to maintain lung power and flexibility. With application and practice of the techniques shown in this book you should be able to look forward to a long life on the bike.
I recommend this book to cyclists of all abilities and ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent service., 6 Feb 2014

Five stars as nothing beats Loctite 243 for stopping fixings coming apart with vibration. I service road bikes and with the state of the roads these days I apply 243 to all threaded fixings. Keeps them in place yet still can be easily taken apart when required. Delivery took 2 days and was much cheaper than the local Auto shop. Will buy again from this supplier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, 6 Feb 2014

If your are of a certain age then maybe you remember when your father would get up at a party and recite ' The Little Yellow Idol.....
Crammed full of great Monologues and I would lay money on you not being able to resist saying them out loud! They may be of a bygone age but kids would love them. When I was at school they were used to improve diction, memory and writing style. And boy' do
they make great 'rap.' If you are interested in Monologues, or just curious about their important role in Victorian and early 20th century
entertainment then buy this book. And as I have mentioned before; what is Rap but a type of modern Monologue set to music.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new, not really'Jazz' but a nice collection., 16 Jan 2014

This review is from: Midnight Moods (Audio CD)
A pleasant, easy listening album but if you are looking for a 'pure' jazz album then look elsewhere. All of the tracks are well known except for 'cry me a river' which is not the classic by Julie London. All have been used on other 'collection' CD's but bought together here as the aptly named Midnight Moods. As for 'Jazz'; Louis Armstrong's, 'Wonderful World', Leon Redbone's 'Relax', Nat King Cole's 'Unforgettable? Hardly. But it makes good late night relaxation music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oscar plays it soft., 6 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Jazz Round Midnight (Audio CD)
The title says it all. Round midnight. Perfect time to play it. Winding down after a hectic day, background to a dinner party, seduction with the lights low. Or just gazing into the fire with a single malt. Perfect.
Oscar plays it cool throughout both as a trio and a quartet, accompanied by top flight musicians. Guitarists Herb Ellis/ Barney Kessler and a link between the trios of 'King Cole' and Oscar Peterson, Irving Ashby. Ed Thigpen the brush virtuoso and on two tracks the vibraphone of Milt Jackson. Throughout the CD the discrete bass of Ray Brown provides a subtle heartbeat. Recommended.
However; ignore the cover shown on Amazon which shows Lester Young. He is NOT on the CD. The cover you will receive is without Lester Young on the front.
