Perfect primer, 3 Jun 2014
Hugo Dixon has produced a compelling case for the UK staying in the EU. With typical clarity and rigour, he argues that all the realistic alternatives are worse, particularly for some of Britain’s key industries, including the City. And while clear about the disadvantages of membership, he rightly points out that the eurozone crisis and rising euroscepticism within the EU has presented a real opportunity for reform. Britain should “fix it, not nix it”. This is an ideal primer for the great debate ahead of a possible referendum.
