The mystery of Sheffield, 15 July 2009
This read works on two fronts. Apart from having a mystery unfold in a lovely storytelling style, you are also transported onto the streets of Sheffield, where as a southerner you learn a bit about this part of Yorkshire with its whims and ways, particularly of that period.
Also it did stir up memories of a different way of life in my own youth, looking to identify with the main character Billy, mixed with having read Just William as a boy.
So I highly recommend that you read this initial work from this author, as the style is simple and engaging, that ensures that it is indeed a "page-turner".
More of this ilk please!
