4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent with unusual bits in, 30 Jan 2014

This review is from: Medical Carrycase (Toy)
This set has more than the usual sets have in and its really quite inventive! theres a blood pressure armband which ive never seen before - I finished it off with 100 kids Disney plasters from Poundland - oh boy were we given a thorough medical on Christmas morning! Discarded the plastic inserts after opening it - the case could be a bit easier for little fingers to open. Wonderful set - worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong story, four very solid and different characters, lots of London background, 30 Jan 2014

What a refreshing story! Good solid plot line and introduction of each character - all of whom were very real and individual - prolonged interest. Really enjoyed except for extremely long drawn out sex scenes going on for pages and pages which were a bit unnecessary.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rather too much seething and narrowing of eyes - gets quite annoying, 30 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The heroine is Italian and seeths a lot, lifts chin, narrows eyes, etc etc. Gets annoying and rather boring. The hero is OK but his turn from believable character to losing all reasoning and control is particularly unbelievable. Quite glad to finish it in the end. Sorry.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very hard work, 29 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I usually enjoy Mary Ballogh novels but this one is very hard work. Its quite a far stretched tale to begin with but contains mostly sex lust and self denial. Got to be very very hard work and couldnt wait to get it finished. Much prefer The Famous Heroin which is funny and loving and The Plumed Bonnet which has interesting detail.

Never Dare a Duke (Avon Romantic Treasure)
Never Dare a Duke (Avon Romantic Treasure)

Edition: Mass Market Paperback

2.0 out of 5 stars Gave up on this one part way through, 1 Dec 2009
Sorry to say that I actually gave up reading this two thirds the way through. It was like wading through treacle.... the storyline was tenuous to say the least and the houseparty dull, focusing almost entirely on a weak ghost hunt theme which lost power after being used for the umpteenth time as an excuse for nosing around. Very poorly written and dull. This from a Georgian Romance fanatic! Sorry folks but would pass on this one given hindsight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly different, 1 Dec 2009
After wading through a few Georgian "Dukes" books, and getting a little bored with the recurring themes, this book was refreshingly different. It has humour, and the lead male doesnt take himself quite so seriously as our usual brooding Dukes. The female lead is entertaining and whilst still flappable, she is much more human than the usual heroine. Good strong story line and very stimulating as far as visualising the humorous scenes goes. Loved this book.
