1.0 out of 5 stars If you want sound quality - look elsewhere!, 13 Jun. 2010
I bought a pair of these for my brother at christmas. After around an hour, the microphone lead connecting to the 360 controller had broken. This wasn't a problem and i returned them and got an immediate replacement. The replacement pair have been used almost daily since christmas and i'm told they are still working fine, must have just been unlucky with the first set. After having a go with them though, my problem with these headphones is the sound quality, it is truly appalling. They are seriously bass heavy, to the point where it masks any mid or high tones and just ruins any low notes by distorting and biasing them. The amplifier is effectively a low-pass filter and it really effects a game such as battlefield bad company 2 where the rich full-bodied sound helps to immerse you.

If you want a pair of headphones that are loud and you don't give a damn about sound quality then buy them, but you will probably regret it after you listen to them. As for using them with a PC to listen to music etc, just don't bother, use any pair of headphones you have lying around the house, even if you got them out of a christmas cracker because they will definitely reproduce the sound better.

I cannot stress just how bad these sound, however if you still decide to buy them, you can't say i didn't warn you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 14 May 2010
This review is from: Final Cut Studio (Mac) (DVD-ROM)
I ordered this product through the Apple education store, being at university meant that i only paid 250 not the 800+ RRP. I started editing around 3 years ago and have tried or owned most programs out there including vegas pro, FC Express, pinnacle studio :(, I have to say that this is truly a remarkable product. You get everything you could possibly need and a bit more. FCP is great and if like me you upgraded from FCE then you will find it really easy to pick up as the interface is very similar. As for using the other programs in the suite, each interface is different but a few hours looking around the web and you will be on your way.

Is it worth upgrading from FCE? That really depends on how much style you want to bring to your projects. If you only want to do a minor bit of colour grading then you can use FCE, but more in depth work is easier on Color 1.5. The same goes for sound and graphics work, minor stuff can be done in FCE or Livetype, but Soundtrack Pro is such a powerful tool you can do almost anything with it and Motion 4 is just as good.

The workflow is also brilliant. If your editing something in FC and want to colour grade it, or edit the soundtrack just click File>Send to, and you can select any program in the suite. I know that sounds small, but it is so useful to not have several files all at different stages of editing.

Would i pay 800+ for it? No because i don't do enough editing to justify that amount, but if you think you will then go for it, because you will not be disappointed. Apple really have created a great product and i will never look at the competition again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than MW2?, 8 Mar. 2010
Well i've had a few hours to play this game and I must say it is excellent. The campaign is very good, I haven't completed it yet but at the moment its up there with MW and MW2. If i'm honest I don't think it will be better than COD but it is running a very close second. As for the multiplayer, I do think its better than all the previous offerings from the COD franchise. Its totally immersive, visually its excellent, the sound is incredible and the overall feel is spot on. It's different from COD in that it's very squad based, if you try and rush by yourself you will fail. It's highly tactical and i feel that makes a really nice change. Like many i've had a few issues connecting to matches, but i'm sure this is just teething problems and DICE will iron it out shortly.

Overall i would highly recommend this game, but i would strongly advise anybody who feels COD is lacking something or is starting to get boring to buy it straight away. You will not be disappointed!
