5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome value, 22 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this as a present but would have but another for myself if i didn't have so many watches. After having spent so much money on a lot of G-shocks, this is astounding value. Not quite as thick as a g shock (both in strap and case) but diameter wise its still a fairly big watch (google image it to see it on a wrist) and has plenty of features and its solar so no more costs from battery replacements. It comes in various dark colours but this dark green is a nice change and fab for only 28 quid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good but heavy, 22 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These were cheaper than anything i saw in B&Q but had good reviews so i took a gamble. Well made and they cut well. I knocked off a point because they're pretty heavy and your arms will soon be aching if you're holding them up for a long period of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice monopod, 22 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Velbon UP-400 Monopod (Camera)
I wanted a monopod purely to act as a pole for an assistant to hold a flash gun over a model and took a risk and hoped it was rigid enough for this purpose (which it was). I've used it once also for its normal monopod purpose on a smaller camera (NEX 7) when out on a day trip and it was also perfectly satisfactory. Aluminium tubes and good robust plastic clips make it feel strong. There is a wrist strap at the top which can not be removed so either wrap it around itself to keep it out the way or you'd have to cut it off. Note that for this money there is no ball head but you can easily screw on on top (i've fitted the small but strong joby ballhead X) for times when you might want to shoot at an angle significantly away from the horizontal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great protection, 22 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
'Touch wood' i've never harmed the front of a lens but having just spent £1,200 on a lens i thought it would be foolish not to spend another 20 quid protecting the front element. The filter feels very good and is, off coure, ultra clear (if you hold this close in front of your eye you would swear you're only holding a metal ring; there is zero glare or reflection). I only knocked off a star because it still seems a little expensive for a filter that has no optical function. I've paid half the price for a same size (77mm) filter to protect the highly curved front element on a wide angle lens and i'm not convinced as to why this was so much more (except saying "pro" on the side),

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price., 22 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was at first I was put off by the cheap price thnking that they may fall apart or feel weak but they're perfectly ok. We bought two to try them and then once satisfied, bought 2 more (our DVD's were taking up to much room). They're full up and everything feels fine. The zip, handle, pages, individual sleeves, are all fine and cd's slot in and out very freely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect adaptor for mounting a cold shoe onto a tripod, 1 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought a swivel flashgun mount with the intention on not using it on a light stand but instead onto a tripod. As soon as i received the bracket i immediatly realised it would not fit and went straight back onto Amazon to find a suitable adaptor. This was i think slightly more than that the cheapest possible option but it does the job perfectly. Just make sure you give the bracket (with this adaptor) than final twist to make sure everything is snug on tight.
Rapid perfect delivery the highland photography as usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb MANUAL flash, 27 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted a second off camera flash for illuminating backgrounds behind portraits. For this type of use i didn't see a need for a more sophisticated TTL metering flash. This unit is just to optically slave from my main front flash. I read the reviews on here and youtube and this looked like it was worth a try for the money.

Its superb build quality for the money and doesn't feel cheap at all. Within 60 seconds of putting batteries in i'd turned it on and figured out the controls for zoom, sound, major and minor power adjustment. The LCD screen and buttons all feel very good. It has a plastic twist lock for the hotshoe as opposed to a flick lever that you'd find on more expensive 'brand' units.

Its a superb additional flash but as its non TTL, probably not very good as your primary flash unless you fancy trial and error OR you very smart at working out the details for each shot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value Pan Tilt Head, 27 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a big Vanguard fan having already got a camera bag, hard camera case and Tripod. I'm using a GH100 pistol grip head on a Alta pro 263 AT but for some shots i want a smooth, linear up/down and side to side sweep action. You cant really do this on a ball head based head and even though the excellent GH100 has a panaromic feature, its notched at every 5 degrees (great for planning fixed stills in a panoramic plane but not for an ultra smooth sweep).

As i wanted a pan tilt head just for occasional use i thought about going for the PH 22 but i found the PH 32 for a reduced price so had that instead. Usual lovely build from Vanguard with nice little touches. Excellent large camera plate, clever safety catch, nice smooth action (although still slightly stiff; might fee up?) and clever twist knob on the side toggles between allowing pan/tilt and allowing only pan. I assumed this knob would have simply been to lock it only in pan direction. You cant actually do this but the rotation is stiff enough such that it wont wiggle undesirably if you're trying to only do a vertical sweep.

Only minor complaint is that there is a very slight high point in the resistance at one point of the pan rotation. I just say this as manufacturing feedback as if you were to loosen it off in the pan plane and try to push it through 360 degress with your finger, you'd feel a slight tight spot. In reality i'll just always orientate the legs so that i avoid this bit when i use it for a 180 degree pan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works a treat on my NEX 7, 16 Dec. 2012

Works a treat on my NEX 7. Small, cheap, and light. I've only used it once but been very please with it. Remember that unlike 'cable' remote releases, you need to be pointing this at the front of the camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely build, 16 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I use this on my D90 and Sony Nex 7 (manual focus with an adaptor) and intend on still using it as my main portrait lens with my soon to be purchased D800. Better image quality than my Nikon 50mm F1.8 (which is a great compact, light weight, budget portrait lens) and lovely build quality but note that it is big and heavy.
