5.0 out of 5 stars Actually - Most Enjoyable!, 11 Nov. 2014
This review is from: Surviving Christmas [DVD] (DVD)
Being something of a big Christmas movie fan, I came to this with some trepidation after reading other reviews - but decided to give it a go with no prejudices and you know what, it's fun - it does what it is supposed to in a Christmas film, builds up tension and drama but then gives you a happy ending - perfect, and the cast are top notch.

1.0 out of 5 stars oh dear...a misfire, 28 Dec. 2013
This review is from: Tactical Force [DVD] (DVD)
The Condemned - yes, Hunt to Kill - yes, this one - oh no.
I am a BIG Stone Cold fan, and like his movies and will continue to watch his movies but sadly apart from him, this movie is the total s***s. Crap dialogue, so so action, MASSIVE plotholes, continuity errors - you name it - a definite one to miss alas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Golfers Elbow....NO MORE!, 16 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had a golf holiday in Turkey booked recently with 6 consecutive rounds of golf to look forward to BUT was suffering from a very painful golfers elbow. To say that I was concerned was an understatement. I spoke to a physiotherapist who suggested some form of forearm strapping would do the job, so I had a look here on AMAZON and after weighing up all the odds, decided to go for this one.
I wore it everyday whilst playing golf and wasn't even aware that I had it on and felt absolutely no pain in my elbow whatsoever. Lo and behold one month later I no longer require to wear it to play golf - my elbow issue has gone.
I highly recommend this item - worked better than expected for me - and it'll work for you for sure!

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh deary me...poor poor poor, very disappointing., 19 Feb. 2013
This show started ok at best but rapidly went downhill with bad acting, dreadful dialogue, flabby all over the place storyline and plotholes you could drive a lorry through. Avoid at all costs - you'll NEVER get the time lost watching it back...

Almost an Angel [DVD] [1990] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC]
Dvd ~ Paul Hogan

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Ignored But Excellent, 19 Dec. 2012

This film seems to have disappeared in the mists of time when people talk about Paul Hogan films - and thats a shame. He has the same wit and charm as his Crocodile Dundee film, there are some great lines and a very funny cameo from a HUGE movie star - and a neat little twist in the tail. Very entertaining film.

3.0 out of 5 stars Formulaic action "B" movie, 19 Dec. 2012

Entertaining if somewhat throwaway action film. Roddy Piper is pretty good, Billy Blanks a touch "wooden" but the fight sequences are good and overall its a decent flick

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Lesson (and golf!) that we can ALL learn from, 17 Jun. 2012
Forget the previous reviews - total numpties who have missed the point altogether - this is a great little independent movie/documentary that is both uplifting and inspiring at the same time. NONE of us who are golfers have had the nerve to "give it a go" - but this guy did just that and in the process shaved 11 shots of his handicap to become a category 1 golfer, became a better husband and father, patched up relationships with his father and step-father - and basically lived the dream - good on you man!! HIGHLY recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb BLACK comedy/drama, 2 Dec. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Private Schulz [1981] [DVD] (DVD)
I watched this when it was first aired as a 14year old boy and LOVED it then. Well time has not diminished my thoughts, I watched this in one go - all 6 episodes back to back - each "chapter" leads onto the next so it had to be done. Compelling drama BUT the writing and comedic performances by Michael Elphick and in particular Ian Richardson had me rolling around in stitches. It is a VERY very black comedy, obviously as it is about Jewish prisoners of war forging money and a slightly dubious black marketeer who is looking to ride out the worst of the war quietly all the while "feathering his nest" - doesn't sound like a recipe for comedy but it has to be seen to be believed, it is very very funny and superbly acted and written. It's a slow burn from episode one but by the time you have finished the 1st disc (3 episodes) you just have to know what's next for Schulz...highly recommended!!
