3.0 out of 5 stars It's not good and it's not bad., 7 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So here's the scenario, SkyHD box, DVD player, Apple TV and an Xbox One all connected to two displays, one through an AV amp and the other directly via a 10m HDMI cable.
So what's good about it?
Aside from the price the unit seems sturdy enough, does not glitch or cause image quality issues and does not alter the source signal in any way.
So what's bad about it?
The unit takes a good few seconds to sync up when you change the input, worst case so far is upwards of 5 seconds! If you set output B to the same source as output A both screens go blank for few seconds while they sync up again. Needless to say that this can be pretty annoying.
I wasn't expecting flashy picture in picture or clean fades when switching but I was expecting the signals to appear much quicker than they do. It's easy enough for me to accept the delay and live with it but my wife and 12-year old son are a different matter entirely!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent simple introduction to a very rusty programmer., 11 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Easily digestible by someone who hasn't done any programming for nearly 20 years. It gives a simple but comprehensive insight into the Pi and forms a core understanding that helps the reader to make a lot more sense out of the mountains of free information that there is already online.
So why not 5 stars? Although I could access the online examples storage I was prompted for a username and password that is not mentioned in the book. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to type the code in by hand as you learn it much faster that way but for those that need to download it, you can't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dodgy science shouldn't put you off what is a cracking story., 4 Oct. 2014

If you can get past the scientific stretch that is at the crux of the novel, the storyline develops rather nicely with believable characters and a good pace.
