5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series, 16 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Epic and awesome retelling of the fairy tales with lots of side stuff thrown in too.
We really enjoyed watching the series and can't wait until season 3 gets released on disc.
Robert Carlisle's performance as Rumplestiltskin really made it for us.

Starts out more or less as a police procedural, becomes something so much more.
Looking forward to Season 2.
Outstanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, 8 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a well thought out guide from David who really does know how to explain things in a straightforward manner.

As per his explanation in the introduction, it is not just a rehash of the official Nikon user manual with a few pretty pictures, but a well structured and in depth consideration of the use of this amazing camera.

The only area which is not comprehensibly covered is the use of the old "non CPU" AI lenses, although there is a mention and a "How to set up" the 9 lens selection pre-sets. This is not a fault of the author, more a reflection that most people will be starting with D or G auto lenses and this book is already a massive 658 pages.

If you have bought a D800(E) and have or are planning to try out some of these older classic AI lenses then there is enough specifics to get going and all the explanations of how to navigate and set up the various menus and options makes the overall book well worth the asking price.

The D800(E) is also a movie camera and you will still need to know how to use a G lens if you succumb and get a wide range zoom specifically for HD video use. And of course there is a nice section about the movie mode set-up and use in David's book.

So overall a great book and excellent value for the well rounded presentation of the features and capabilities of the awesome Nikon D800(E) camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless Classic, 27 Feb 2013

Whilst the transfer is a bit grainy, particularly in a couple of low light scenes, the Blu-ray version is still well worth getting.
Really enjoyed re-watching and the great performances from the cast still draws one into the whole story.
Excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kettle, 22 Aug 2010
Really nice kettle.

Quick to boil.

Because I can see the quantity going in clearly when I am filling from the tap I only use the exact amount I need, its really easy to judge.

Watching the water come to the boil is so much more fun than watching paint dry!

Nice small footprint on the worktop too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning - MBW200 bluetooth watch does NOT work with Xperia X10i Android phone, 21 Aug 2010
Lovely (although a bit bulky) watch which at time of writing (August 2010) does NOT work i.e. will not connect, to Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i Android phones.

Search the web for more details.

I am sure it is great in all other respects - however as a pure watch is is big and heavy and with only 7 or so days battery life between charges really doesn't work just as a timepiece.

If (when?) Sony Ericsson get this Android issue sorted out then it would get more stars. Watch apparently works with other OS phones, problem is with Android.

If you are thinking of getting this watch please look very carefully at the compatibility list for phones it will work with.

Please remember this is a Sony Ericsson problem, the seller is NOT responsible for this issue.

UPDATE - January 2011
=====================

Okay, result.

X10i upgrade to Android 2.1 as per roll-out in UK last autumn.

Loaded Open Watch.

Still didn't work!!!

Upgraded X10i to 32GB Micro SDHD card (Christmas present).

Eureka! Suddenly it is asking for Bluetooth connections an the watch connection starts working!

So I assume that there are some configurations stored somewhere (that had to be reset/remade) when I changed SD cards.

Now a happy bunny :)

P.S.

Yes, with OpenWatch it now gets the 5* score.

UPDATE - August 2012
====================
During the last 12 months the little display at the bottom of the watch has lost all it's brightness and is now NOT visible at all (even under the duvet at night with dark adjusted sight).

Fortunately I happened to leave it in a mode with Bluetooth turned off, so on a charge the watch still tells the analog time for a couple of months.

But as a Bluetooth controller, it is scrap!

Also many of the sparkly "gem" things have fallen out. This was just from normal (and this actually means mostly once or twice a month) use.

Once more very disappointed with the whole thing.

So have to downgrade my rating to Zero.
