5.0 out of 5 stars A fast-paced thriller, 5 Jun. 2013
I was excited to start this book because I love Mel Comley's Justice series. This didn't disappoint. It was a fast-paced thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat and deals with issues that affect urban and inner city areas. The ending took me completely by surprise!

When witch Mara faces eviction from her LA apartment, the death of her aunt Tillie opens up a new and challenging opportunity to move to a remote cottage, but being the daughter of a witch isn't all it's cracked up to be, and Mara has to put her witchy talents to the test to save herself!

This was such a fun read! I loved the characters of Mara and Gus and their banter. It's not all witchiness, though, it's also witty, romantic, and heartfelt. You won't be able to put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, 28 Feb. 2013
This is a fun read that kids are sure to love. It tells the adventures of Katrina the cat and Stanley the dog, who have a love/hate relationship, but have to put up with each other because they're in the same household. As well as being witty and great fun, It also tells an important tale of how they can put aside their differences to work together. With some funny side characters like Zorg the Hamster, who thinks he's an astronaut, this will have you chuckling away out loud!

What's not to love about The Secret Diary of Alice ? It's witty, fun, quirky with a great dose of mystery, romance, and comedy combined. I was brought up with John Cleese, and his sense of humour, so Nigel Channing absolutely nails it for me.

Fast-paced and climatic, you won't be able to put this fabulous book down!

When hispanic bodies are turning up mutilated and dumped, the detectives of Aspen Falls are in for a shocking discovery. This is a fast-paced, thrilling read that deals with something we'd probably rather not know about. The character's lives are intertwined to make the plot more compelling and full of suspense. I couldn't put it down once I started reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab Chick Lit Read!, 14 Feb. 2013
When a new tech guy starts work at Emma's office, she tries her best to ignore him. After all, Emma has a secret she doesn't want her co-workers to find out about, and any feelings she has for him could threaten to expose her.

This was a fun and witty read. I really liked Emma - she was sassy, capable, and had some great thoughts, and I was definitely not expecting the twist at the end! A fab chick lit book to keep you thoroughly entertained.

While trying to get over her cheating ex, Margaret takes the chance on a new job in France, where she's thrown together with a very married French man. They begin a passionate affair and everything seems to be going fabulously for Margaret. She believes she may have everything she wants, but something is niggling away at her, until a bad decision threatens to destroy everything she's got.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all teenagers, 4 Feb. 2013

This review is from: Go Ask Alice (Kindle Edition)
I remember being given this book to read by my mum when I was about 11. Obviously, she was hoping that it would open my eyes to the horrors of what could happen if I started doing drugs. Well, it worked! The book haunted me for a long time, and I was glad to see that it was now available in Kindle format because I wanted to read it again.

There's been a lot of debate about whether this is actually a real diary, or whether it's the work of fiction by the editor Beatrice Sparks, but I think that's irrelevant, really. The main issue of the book is to portray the downward spiral of a teenage girl who gets hooked onto drugs. It's about what could happen to your daughter, or son, or niece, or nephew, or cousin. It's written in language from the 60s/70s so it is a bit dated, but it still absolutely relates to teenagers in the 21st Century, where drugs are even more readily available, and, in some cases, are more available than alcohol.

This book should be made essential reading in all schools. It's hard hitting, gritty, emotional, and powerful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit for Mel Comley!, 3 Jan. 2013
It's nice to have followed Lorne's journey through the police force and now into a private PI role. She's come along way through the series and is now retired from the police force with a new hubby and a new animal rescue centre to keep her busy. But Lorne can never keep still and is itching to get back to investigating crimes, so she decides to start up her own PI business. Her first case deals with a group of women who have been attacked by a local golden-eyed boy, but him getting his justice in the courts doesn't quite work out as planned!

This is another fast-paced thriller from Mel Comley that I couldn't put down. A recommended read!
