5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced Thrilling Ride, 8 May 2014

I'm a huge fan of Mel Comley's books and this one is no exception. The reader is hurtled into a fast-paced plot full of murder, suspense, and the hectic family life of DI Hero Nelson.

Another thrilling read by Mel Comley that won't disappoint. It's a rollercoaster of a read that I couldn't put down once I started! It can be read as a standalone novel or as part of the Hero Series.

Wow, this book is an amazing read! Based on historical fact, this novel follows the journey of Amianta, a woman stolen from Africa when she was an eleven-year-old girl and sold into slavery in America. It follows her subsequent exodus from New York to Canada during the American Revolutionary War after serving behind British Lines, her return to Africa to establish a free colony in Sierra Leone, and a journey to Britain to help abolish slavery.

Written beautifully, Amianta is an amazing and courageous character who endures and witnesses great hardship along the way. A must read for fans of Twelve Years a Slave.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another gripping read!, 14 Feb. 2014

I’m a big fan of Mel Comley’s books, and they just keep getting better and better. If you’re looking for a gripping thriller with plenty of twists and turns then the second book in the Intention Series will have you on the edge of your seat.

Ellen Brazil and her partner at the Missing Persons Hotline try to trace a missing ex bank manager turned poker player. Charles Dugan, presumed dead in a fire at his house is now very much alive. But who started the fire and why? Why has he disappeared? It’s a page turning read to find out the answers, and adding to the tension are some horrific family problems in Ellen’s personal life.

5.0 out of 5 stars The series keeps getting better!, 26 Oct. 2013
Contacted by the sister of a missing girl, Lorne is quickly plunged into an investigation where the killer seems to be choosing his victims through internet dating sites. But not everything is as it seems, and Lorne discovers that she's not just dealing with one serial killer but two. Adding to the complication, Lorne is still dealing with the death of her father and trying to get help for her sister, Jade, who's not coping well.

I've enjoyed all the books in this series and they just keep getting better! I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.If you want a fast-paced thriller with plenty of gritty and gripping action, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Educational and moving, 1 Oct. 2013
This review is from: Alex The Cat (Kindle Edition)
Alex the Cat is a very educational children's book that tells the sad and moving tale of a kitten who's orphaned. Alex goes from having two loving parents who feed and care for him, then finds himself in a desperate situation to get food and survive. Your heart will break for Alex as he tries to find love again in a world that is not always kind. It contains a powerful message that humans can learn a lot from: how the negative way we act towards animals has a lasting effect and trauma on them.

After being taken to Kihali Animal Oprhanage, it's touch and go whether she'll survive, until chief vet introduces Boozie, the goat, for company. Boozie's natural love of others brings Zuri out of her grief and helps her find the will to live again.

Zuri is a true love story. A love of animals, the environment, and how human love can heal wounds. It highlights how we need to stop poaching and wildlife trafficking before it's too late. How human's selfish greed threatens to wipe out the magnificent and beautiful creatures on this earth. It's about devotion of people who dedicate their lives to keeping these animals safe. But It's also a story about survival of animal and human spirit, and how we can both learn to heal each other.

A must read for anyone who cares about animals and the environment, because what we do to them, we do to ourselves.
